Economical weddings?

Hello all you wedding planners! I am a reporter at The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, working on a story for our bridal section this spring about 2010 weddings. In particular I want to know about how the current recession is (or is not) affecting your wedding plans.     Hi! We have just started planning our wedding and we are realizing how incredibly expensive it is to have an elegant wedding that includes ONLY close family and friends.  We both have pretty big families and are looking at a minimum of 150 guests.  The best thing we have found is to take advantage of the connections that our family and friends have in the area.  Getting a deal on a venue, a caterer, or even linens can make the difference in having the elegant wedding or a backyard babrbecue!
