Any Tips for Venue Hunting?

I'm getting ready to look at some venues in Stevensville, MD on the water...Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, Kent Manor Inn, and Silver Swan Bayside.  Based on pictures I've found online I'm equally in love with all 3 so deciding where to have my wedding service and reception will come down to price.  Does anyone have any history with these vendors?  Do you have any negotiating tips that have worked for you?  Any freebie advice that you know these vendors will throw in if you ask?  Unfortunately, budget is an issue and I'm afraid that my dreams will be crushed when I find out pricing!

    We look at all 3 and went with Silver Swan.  Their prices were the best, plus they were really flexible.  They ask for 1/3 total for the deposit, but they booked our date with a little less than that.  Plus, I recently found out that my dad and stepmom will be losing their jobs some time in the next year, and Silver Swan allowed us to move our date, to a year later :( , without fuss.  We knew this was the place as soon as we walked in, and this was during renovations!
