Dinnerware

So I'm getting married at music hall and am using Vonderhaars catering.  They quoted me to use disposable elegant dinnerware and it looks like china.  If we don't use that it will be almost $4 a person to use real china.  and for 400 people thats a lot.  What would you use if you were in my place?

I think $4.00 a person is a lot and you could put that money towards a  lot of other cool stuff for your wedding.  I don't think many people will even notice.  We also have 400 people due to large families so I can relate with how fast stuff adds up.  But I think it comes down to how formal your wedding is, the budget that you have to work with, and how much its worth it to you.

Yeah, I agree... I don't think your guests will notice the china as much as other things and you can use that money on other things. I didn't take notice of the dinnerware used at our wedding at all. Do you have other options for dinnerware?

Have you looked at other rental companies to see how much dinnerware is? China or otherwise. I think you want to make sure that you don't overpay, but also don't skimp. It's funny the things your guests will remember from the wedding... I'm not sure what disposable elegant dinnerware is.. so in that aspect I'm not much help.

I only met with Vonderhaars for a tasting but I know what type of dinnerware you're talking about. I personally decided to rent real china for my wedding and I'm pretty sure it was way less than $4 pp. Granted I also only rented enough for 240ish people. I used L&H Company in Germantown for all my rental stuff. They are north of Hamilton but deliver anywhere in the tri-state. I definitely recommend them.
