Local seamstress

I am looking for a skilled seamstress to create the dresses for my bridesmaids. The dresses will be silk charmeuse with a top layer of silk chiffon, which I hear can be a bit tricky. How do I find a seamstress in the area (DC/Baltimore area) who I know will do a good job and wont over charge? I have looked online, but haven't had any luck.

Try calling a few local, high-end bridal shops in your area and ask who they recommend.  Some shops don't have their own seamstress and refer all their clients to 1 specific seamstress.

Betsy Robinson's (in Reisterstown) refers everyone to Dalinda's.  Specifically Luda Zayats is the seamstress who does the work and alters all the wedding gowns.  I met with her once and for what she has to do with my dress I was really surprised with how low the price was--I was expecting it to be at least twice expensive.

I used Luda for my dress, we are getting married on 6/4/11, I was very impressed and satisfied!
