Bridesmaid Dresses

Hey OC Brides!

Stressing out a bit here, looking for bridemaid dresses. I just want a simple on shoulder or even halter dress that is floor length in either charcoal grey or eggplant. I have girls of different sizes and figured the most flatter is the one shoulder or halter.

One problem I'm running into is their budgets. I don't think they're looking to spend $200-$350 even $400 on a dress. I would like to help them out, but I can't. The best way I can help is to find a dress that doesn't cost that much in the first place!

Do any of you have any recommendations on places to get dresses for less, but still decent quality?

Please help!

Thanks =)

    Have you checked Alfred Angelo? I feel like they were pretty reasonable and had those colors in long dresses.

    If you know which brand bridesmaid dress you like, you can call netbride.com or pearlsplace.com and get quotes. They have the cheapest prices I've seen thus far on lots of brands like Bari Jay and Mori Lee, etc.

    Have you looked at department stores? If you find one at bloomingdales or macys you can always buy them when a sale is going on to cut down on the cost. Nordstroms has great dresses too.

    I have a similar problem with different size/shape BMs. I'm looking at similar style dresses from Jasmine bridals...specifically the B2 best selling styles. The two that I'm looking at so far I've priced at $130 and several stores in OC carry the line.

    Alfred Angelo has a great variety of dresses (that is where i got my wedding dress & Bridemaid dresses), but DO NOT get your alterations done there!!! They will rip you off.  I went in for my fitting and they tried to charge me literally 50% of the cost of my dress to do minor alterations (bustle & hem) When my FMIL went she over heard another bride being given the same crazy quote....Beautiful dresses and wonderful staff, but terrible alterations policy..Good luck!!

    Hey girls!

    Thanks SO much for all your input. I considered almost all..then I decided to do what happened to be most convenient for me and the girls - got the dress on SALE with Alfred Angelo for less than $150! SO I am a happy bride to be :) But we didn't get one shoulder....we got halter which was my FIRST pick anyway.

    And for alterations, I don't think we'll be doing it there.

    Thanks again and again!
