Alfred Angelo

Hi all out thereI have a question on Alfred AngeloMy friend and I went out for an intial scounting trip and went into a Alfred Angelo store.  They had the dress I had seen online instock to try on.  I decided to go ahead and purchase it since I really did not think I would find anything else that I would like more and knew it was one for me.  That was on 8/16/2009.  One thing I thought was odd was there 14 day pick up policy, even though I paid in full.  I was told 12 to 14 weeks for delivery so I thought I would not need to worry about this until the end of October.  I got a message on 9/7 that my dress came, 3 weeks after I ordered it.  Huh? I'm really busy with work right now and I'm not sure if I can get in there this week.  I'm going to call them but I'm bothered that the dress came in so much sooner than they quoted and I'm put in the position to act on this with such a small window of time.  If the dress is paid in full, why would they have this 14 day policy?  Also in the back of my head I'm thinking I'm getting someone else's dress that did not get picked up on time.   Has anyone else had a similiar experience that they could not pick up their dress in their 14 day window? Gloria

i went to db and their window was a little bigger, however i was STOKED that my dress came in earlier than quoted. i would think its a good thing to get your dress sooner than expected because its YOUR dress.. maybe someone can pick it up for you if its that big of an inconvenience?

I ordered from Alfred Angelo and think the 14 day thing is strange and unfair if you have paid in full. I can understand it if you only put down a deposit. However they told me that they quote the longest time it could possibly take for your dress to get in but it all depends on which wharehouses have it in your size and style and how close they are to the store. But i would definately call about the pickup. Would they let a friend or family member pick it up and sign for it or does it have to be you?

The exact same thing happened to me!  How odd!  It seems like they just measure you to know what size you are...almost the same as David's Bridal except for that it's only your dress..but it seemed like it was already made and waiting in a warehouse here or something.  They told me it would be a few months, and less than a week later they called me!  I'm glad to have it, but it's actually kind of irritating, because now it's hanging out at my house..since their seamstress only works one day a week and I can't get off work to take it anywhere.

My dress did come in much earlier too. Heads up on the seamstress at Alfred Angelo. She is extremely overpriced. If you are on a tight budget I would shop around. I have found places that will do my alterations for over half the price the seamstress at Alfred Angelo quoted me.
