Ceremony and Reception HELP!

I just recently got engaged and I'm trying to find decently-priced venues to have our wedding. Since my fiance' and I will be paying for everything, price does play a HUGE role. Does anyone know of any vendors, ceremony and reception sites in Orange County that aren't expensive but still have appeal? Thanks!

depends on what you mean by expensive and appeal.. do you want north or south oc, indoor/outdoor, what kind of style, what budget? those are things you need to decide first.. and then look at places that fit those ideas!!!

My goal is to try and not spend any more than $15,000. I realize the average wedding in California (Southern California) costs about $25,000 - $30,000. So this is definitely going to be a task. I want the ceremony outdoors, and the reception indoors/outdoors - whatever comes with the location. Style, I am very flexible with. I'm just wondering if someone can recommend any places that are pretty, but won't cost an arm and a leg! :) thanks!

I'm having both my ceremony and reception at the Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente, CA. It's SUPER reasonable and you can bring in all of your own vendors (except security which is contracted through the city). It's beachfront with a 1/2 indoor 1/2 outdoor facility with a large lawn for a ceremony. It is right on the beach, so an on-sand option is there too. It shares a metered parking lot with the train and the beach parking, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. HTH

I am getting married at the La Mirada Golf Course. The ceremony is outside at the gazebo overlooking the lake, etc.. then the reception is inside. They are super reasonable and Natalie that is the catering person is really nice and totally worked with our budget (which is the same as yours by the way, if you mean 15,000 for EVERYTHING)

I would look into the oc sailing and events center

If you're up for a boat, Electra Cruises in Newport Beach was really inexpensive and all inclusive, which helps cut the cost on outside vendors (flowers, cakes, etc.).

We are also on a tight budget and are doing both the ceremony and reception at Fransiscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano. Our budget is around the same as yours. Its beautiful because its right in the middle of old SJC by the mission and the train station. Beautiful pictures!!!

Check out The Reef in Long Beach--very reasonable.  I am not getting married there, but I went to one over the summer and they had a great view and good food and I was surprised at the low cost on their website (especially for lunch). There are a couple cute places in Fullerton too that are restaurants/venues..but I can't think of the names.I had to postpone my wedding do to a lay off this year but many of my vendors were really nice about itBride and Bloom Wedding Flowers is where I am getting my flowers.  The price was very reasonable.Rossmor Bakery is where I am getting the cake--not the cheapest but very reasonable.  Kings Bakery is cheaper but the cakes don't look as nice.

How many people are you planning to invite? If you're planning a small wedding with around 50 guests it shouldn't be too difficult to stay within budget. Check out Café Mozart in SJC if you're still looking for places.

You all have amazing taste in venues! Let me just say that lol. As far as people-count, it will probably be around 125 - 135 people.

If you are looking for a good florist - let me know your budget and I can work with you.  Ceremony sites in this area are a little pricy... There are venues in Glendale (not so pretty outside) but there Armenian halls there that serve tons of food, give great amounts of alcohol, and seriously are nice inside but ugly outside but you get a lot for the money. Having your wedding on a Sunday or Friday even helps too...Let me know if I could help?<3, Michelle Petals by Xavi Work: michelle@petalsbyxavi.com Personal: corderomichelle@yahoo.com

We are getting married at Arroyo Trabuco in Mission Viejo. It is tucked away, I lived there for 10 years and never knew it existed! Allyson is the coordinator and she is the BEST! Their food is also AWESOME! They are more than willing to work with you on the minimum and their rental fee for the site is cheapest on Sunday's. But it is worth taking a look at, it is beautiful!!!! :)

Try the Chart House in Dana Point. It's a beautiful restaurant and they have an area that overlooks the ocean. Very romatic. I've seen it be done there for around 10,000. -Cynthia

I'm surprised at some of the places listed.  I looked at the Franciscan Gardens, but their site rental alone was as much as 4900.  You were able to budget the entire rest of the wedding, including food and drink for another 10k?  For how many people?Same with Arroyo Trabuco.  We are also looking at this space, but was surprised to see it listed in this budget category.  I would love to hear your secrets.
