Ambiance Designs by Shawn Adams - Make sure everything is in the contract

What was at first a very good experience during the design process turned into a nightmare when I did not get what I envisioned. In my original e-mail I requested extremely tall trees. I stated as tall as possible because the room that I was in has extremely high ceilings. I was very specific on the look that I wanted and sent pictures. I wanted trees and not clusters of branches that look like bushes. I even stated that I did not like the look of clustered branches and wanted a well defined trunk. His assistant Cynthia and I discussed the design and she suggested Manzanita branches. She mentioned they would be around 5 feet high and that she might have the trees in her backyard already. I even had a design meeting with Shawn to go over what I wanted. He even drew a picture of the tree for me. I wanted an enchanted forest look. The night of the wedding I was taken into the reception room and just started to cry. My high arrangements looked EXACTLY like the low arrangements (maybe a few inches taller). I paid EXTRA for high arrangements. They were not extremely high trees but clusters of branches. He basically gave me what I DID NOT want. I was so upset that a group of people had to calm me down. What happened to my enchanted forest?!!I contacted Shawn the following evening. He stated that the contract did not state 5" trees, and he could only go by what was on the contract. What about my e-mails? What about our discussions? What about the drawing? The contract did state HIGH and LOW arrangements. I felt like I was led on to believe I was going to get something and then for profit reasons received something else. He he also stated that if I wanted really high trees, I would've had to pay more. OK... FINE.... but he didn't tell me that after my original e-mail and all of our discussions. I don't know how many discussions we had where I talked about the trees and not once did Shawn or Cynthia say that my cost would increase. I sent an e-mail on what I wanted, was told it was no problem, and signed the contract.I was also to have two trees next to my sweetheart table, but they suggested that the branches would be better used across the tables to fill the space in between arrangements (I had extremely long tables). There were no branches on my tables at all, so instead of the two trees that I paid for, I had nothing. He even drew a picture of this and sent it to me in an e-mail.Also, the flower girl baskets were laughable. My wedding planner requested them for the photo session, and stated they disappeared for an hour or so. When I saw them, my jaw dropped open. I think Shawn forgot about them, ran to the nearest CVS or Big Lots, and added the ribbons. On top of that, they were dark brown whicker that did not match the colors of my wedding at all.On a positive note, the bouquets were beautiful. Please think twice before you use Ambiance Designs. If you decide to use them, make sure your contract is very detailed, or you may end up an unhappy bride.
