rehearsal dinner on the water- Newport Beach or surrounding area

Hello- I am having a destination wedding in Newport Beach, CA (I live in the Phoenix metro area, AZ). I am looking for a great place for a rehearsal dinner ( 20 people) on the harbor, on the beach or with great ocean views that is reasonably priced in or around Newport Beach (willing to go to Huntington Beach, Laguna). We do not need anything super fancy- no fine dining. Thanks in advance to anyone that can give me some advice about restaurants in the area!

I had my bachelorette dinner at Villa Nova in Newport Beach...it's right on the harbor and has great views.  The food was really good as well.  They have private rooms for large groups.  We wanted to have our RD there, too, but the room we wanted was already booked.

The Cannery is good too, you can be out in the patio and they will block off a section for you for more privacy.

Fisherman's Restaurant in San Clemente is great. The downtown area closes early, but is great for the old-town feeling. Fisherman's is on the pier and has amazing sunset views. $15-$30/person sans alcohol. San Clemente is about 20 min south of Newport Beach. In HB, Duke's is a nice place. Located on the pier in HB, it has limited sunset views. Same price range but the nightlife is much more alive past 6pm.

I went to a rehearsal dinner at the Cannery and it was great! The food was delicious, and I don't think it was too expensive. The Harborside Pavilion also has private rooms on the water too.

The Harborside Pavillion is great! That is where I am having my reception, upstairs, but I downstairs I don't think there is a table that doesn't have a great view. The food is good and it is def reasonable.

You could also try Billy's at the Beach on PCH.
