Engagement photo locations

Does anyone have any good ideas of outdoor locations for engagement photos?  I don't want anything beachy.  My fiance and I are looking for somewhere with lots of colors, maybe a little woodsy looking?  Let me know!  Thanks in advance!

Yorba Regional prak is a good idea.  Has anyone ever been to craig park in Brea?

Yes its pretty a lot of green and trees.... a lot of walking... But I would go on a week day bc it can kind of be crowdy on the weekends with kids running around... Also try the Fullerton aboritum (i spelled it wrong) at CSUF

The Mission in San Juan Capistrano is a great backdrop as well.

Okay, so my fiancee and I have decided to scrap the wedding plans we have for our October 2 wedding and start over. We don't have the money to pay for what I wanted and luckily for me I didn't have to put any deposits down. But, I need some suggestions for a nice, VERY INEXPENSIVE wedding reception for approximately 200 people. I am so sad, but realistically, we cannot pay for the reception we were initially planning.

As it is, we had a free photographer, free centerpieces, free dress, and a great deal on the dj.....oh, and our officiant is a family member......

So, the cost of the food and the rentals is what is killing us......so, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

jenniemelville- you might want to repost it again as a new thread. I know that you'll get more responses as a separate thread.

lizsara- behind the Summit House in Fullerton is a golf course- it is definitely woodsy looking, but not so many colors.

The Fullerton Arboretum charges for a $100 permit for any professional or  "posed" photography! And I tried the muckenthaler center and they chare a $75 permit fee!  one day I need to just go driving around and check out parks and such

Just did my pics today at Irvine Regional Park.  It was awesome, super woodsy and it's so large it doesn't matter how many people are there, you can get great pics that look like you two are the only ones there.

You can try a hall of a community center, or depending on your denomination some churches have halls too that can be rented.  Most of them do not provide catering so that's where you come in with the really inexpensive catering company and maybe only serve a few choices for drinks.  Those halls can be decorated with pretty much anything that will make the wedding feel very custom and YOU!

We are doing our engagement pics on 4/29 at Yorba Regional Park. I was also considering Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange. Very woodsy feel to it and lots of trails.

There is also Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills. 58 acres, very woodsy, easy trails - and free. During the week it's not so crowded, either.

We are going to be doing ours at Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula. It's a bit of a drive, but they have so many amazing areas for pictures out there. They don't charge for you to come take engagement photos, they just ask that you give them a heads up when you're going to be going out there.
