Strawberry Farms - anyone have/having their wedding there?

Just curious what your experience has been there. I would love to get some feedback...

I was very excited about the venue until it came time to sign the contract. The biggest thing I'm bummed about is they gave us a price quote (higher end of our budget but we were happy with everything offered) and then in reading the contract, there was a part that mentioned "you are responsible for paying the prices designated in the year your wedding takes place". Well, after asking for clarification multiple times, turns out there prices are going up and they won't honor the original quote they gave us. What's so frustrating is they knew from the beginning we were planning a 2012 wedding. If we hadn't asked for clarification on this, we would have been signing an open ended contract - that seems like poor business ethics to me.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry about the contract issues you're having. I thought about having my ceremony there, but apparently there's a parking lot right next to the outdoor ceremony location, so that was kind of a turnoff for me. I read somewhere that the real farm next door, Tanaka Farms, was interested in having weddings on their property, if you're looking for something really adventurous. Unfortunately, they have no info about weddings on their website, so you'd have to call them to see what they have to offer. Good luck!

Thanks for the info!! Ya, the parking lot is sort of right next to the ceremony site, but they did say they block off the spots so there are no cars parked right there during your ceremony. They also close off half of the driving range that's on the other side of the ceremony site (but a little farther away).

Have you picked your wedding venue? I'm torn between this place or trying to find another location that is still within our budget.

If you liked Strawberry Farms - then you will love Aliso Creek Golf Course. http://www.alisocreekinn.com/default.aspx?pg=weddings

In the hills, but close to the beach and a gorgeous area. We did not have our ceremony there because they did not have our date available, but I loved it!

I am getting married at Strawberry Farms in May. We just got the letter about the 2012 prices and it really is only going to cost us two or three hundred dollars more than we had thought. I have had a wonderful experience with Stacy and they are being really helpful with accommodating my gluten allergy. Helping to design a 100% gluten free menu. If that helps?

Im getting married there in October of this year and we signed our contract last October... Ive since been told to expect to pay a LOT more than we were quoted. I wish the wedding coordinator, Stacy, wouldve mentioned that this might happen!

Also, I have been trying to schedule our food tasting and a date to pick out linens and Stacy is never available, or too busy to talk to me. It is turning in to a nightmare! she just left me a message saying that there are only two date left in September i can choose from and one is the WEEK before my wedding!

Its beautiful but not worth the hassle!
