Tipping

Who do you tip and what percent on the day of?

I would be prepared to tip all of my vendors-dj, band, florist, caterer, hair, makeup that day about $50-$200 depending on how big your wedding is.  However, if they are not up to snuff the tip is not needed.  Also, I might wait on the photographer until you get your photos.

Make sure whoever is dealing with the tips knows what to do if the vendor is bad. We ended up tipping a horrible dj a decent amount of money because there was some miscommunication about what to do if the person was bad.

good question! What about vendors who already charged a gratuity fee in their costs?

Thanks for your responses. That is a good idea to wait until I get the photos to tip the photographer.

Tipping is always a good thing for your wedding vendors especially if they go above and beyond the call of Duty.  You should tips them about the same as a waiter or waitress where 15-20% of the total bill is apropriate.
