I've heard good things about using Kroger.  No personal experience though.

When I was a bridesmaid for a friend of mine, we ordered bulk roses online (could do through Sam's or Cosco?) and then made our own bouquets.  They were gorgeous.

    Hey Daisy810,
I am also looking for an affordable florist as well. My fiance and I aren't really into flowers that much, so I am just looking for bouquets/corsages. We aren't using flowers as table centerpieces, because our flower budget is tight too, and I can't bring myself to pay all that money for floral centerpieces that are going to die and get thrown away. I am having a hard time finding prices online (we are living in knoxville-so doing the planning long distance) however a lot of my friends have used Swan Florist, I think they are in Erlanger Ky. I looked online and the flowers I saw seemed pricy, but my friends are by no means rich, so I don't think they would have paid a lot for flowers. Also- have you thought about using fake flowers? Not the chincy looking ones that you can tell are fake, but Hobby Lobby has some flowers that look decent!  You could always make faux flower centerpieces and carry real flowers to cut costs....?

my friend also used Sam's club bulk floral and made the bouquets the night before and they were great. I would love to do that, my only fear is paying that money and having flowers delivered that are dead or look like they are dieing, and then I would be "up a creek" at the last minute

I really recommend getting faux flowers from Michaels around May or June for your bouquet when they have their 50% off spring flowers sale.  You can get the kinds that are real touch and look amazingly real even from 12 inches away.  If you missed the sale, no prob, still plenty of them at Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

And I would recommend getting some basic centerpiece flowers from Costco or Krogers.  Go on the DIY Board.  Lots of brides have made gorgeous yet simple centerpieces this route.  I would not recommend getting faux flowers for the centerpieces because these are the only (or at least the main) flowers the guests really have contact with in your wedding and you'd want them to be real.

I have assembled flowers for friends before weddings that they ordered from Sams - not all are usable just fyi - you can also bulk order from kroger if you dont want them to put them together if you are crafty enough. Its not terribly difficult- just need to do some reading online  (and doesnt hurt to do a trial run on a bouquet and bout if you are nerveous).

Try The Secret Garden in NKY.  They were by far the most affordable florist we got quotes from, and our flowers turned out great.

My flower budget was also very tight. I decided to go with Susan Foy-The Wedding Designer. I am doing my own centerpieces and using colored handkerchiefs for the guys...no bouts. I told her what my budget was and she came in under budget for me, unlike other florists who went WAY over the budget I gave them. Her work is beautiful.

I'm having Amanda at the Kroger in Anderson do mine. The wedding is in less than 3 weeks so I will post pictures after it of course. So far she has been so helpful. She even make mock ups for me which no other florist would do. So I got to see exactly what they will look like in person.

I've heard good things about Kroger.  My FI works there so we get an employee discount so we'll most likely use them.  We're very DIY oriented so we'll probably go the bulk route.  I also have heard that Sam's bulk is a great option if you want to DIY.

If you're in the NKY area I recommend Jackson's Florist for arrangments.  They deliver locally for free and their prices are pretty low from what I gather.  My sister gave me the tip that when you call florists (or any vendors really) that you don't specificy it's for a wedding - just say you are looking for some arrangements for a party.  Some vendors have special pricing for weddings even though they offer relatively the same products for other events at lower prices!

Oasis has a package for $999. We have been looking into doing it ourselves too. It is a stressful undertaking though, I helped a friend do hers last year and I didnt want to make a fist for a week because my fingers hurt so bad! We had 8 bridesmaid bouqs to make, the brides, 8 groomsmen boud, 2 mothers nosegays, 6 usher bouds, 2 fathers and 2 grandfathers bouds and 2 grandmother corsages. WHEW. It was a 14 hour night before the wedding event so say the least!

HyperChicaPR, if you don't mind me asking, how much is Kroger in Anderson charging you and for what?  My mom suggested I look into this, too.

I got quotes on too many florists :), but the one that came out the cheapest was Fassler Florist in Kentucky and I met with a lot. They were great to work with. Petals n' glass was booked on my day, but heard they were cheaper too. Katie Elfers came close around my budget too, but she doesn't do mock ups ( you have to pay for them). She's good,  but I'm a very visual person and needed mock ups... free mock ups :) and I'm glad I did!
