New to Colorado and needs HELP...wedding planner suggestions!

I am new to Colorado, Littleton area,  and my fiance and I are trying to plan a wedding here.  As I start looking at venues, photographers etc...I am way too overwhelmed.  I am thinking a wedding planner is well worth the money.
Please give any suggestions, or warnings of who to stay away from, and reasons why.  All is greatly sppreciated!

  • I have heard wonderful and great things about Event Unwrapped. Two of my friends used them and I'm planning on using their day-of coordination service. Prices are reasonable and work with any budget

  • When you first start out it is really overwhelming planning a wedding but it is also very exciting. I have had my moments of freak out but then again I love being so involved in my wedding planning process that I could not imagine hiring someone else to do it for me, I say get ppl involved my group of freinds have helped me out so much going to thrift stores and consignment stores and places-but then again I do not think anyone can see my complete vision except for me. So I cannot reccomend any wedding planners but I can reccommend vendors that hopefully help you from the research I have done.

Cake baker-schmidts in loveland Helen is a joy to work with and they do deliver to Denver.

photographers-Gathering Light, yellow paddle, and defiore photography I loved all of their styles and each was unique

Venues-what style are you looking for rustic, elegant, formal?-do you want to stay in Denver or is mountains more your style? outdoor or indoor? the number of guests you are thinking of? These are probably the first thing you would want to figure out
my suggestions for elegant would be brown palace hotel, stonebrook manor both in denver. Hudson Gardens was really pretty for outdoor
something fun that peaked my interest was union station
mountains Della Terra or Wild Basin Lodge or Stanley Hotel in Estes

Florist-Hana Style, Boulder Blooms, or petals from heaven

if you need a dress my favorite experiences at places in Denver and area was Chiyos bridal in aurora, dora grace in FC, D'Anellis in Lakewood all three places were great.

My other suggestions is when you met with vendors ask them if they have suggestions of ppl they have worked with at other weddings that is how I found my photographer from my florist by asking her if she had any reccomendations
  • You are all so helpful thank you! I have been married before and do love the planning process!!! I have a major surgery next month, we're closing on a house the next week and now the planning a wedding without my friends here is overwhelming. I have also losty parents so that bit of emotional baggage are all the reasons I think I need help. But we are wanting a rustic outdoor wedding to take advantage of this beauiful state!! I was thinking maybe a ranch! But all the suggestions you gave for the vendors are a great start! I really do appreciate all your help;
  • Thank you so very much I will be looking them up today!
  • Ellis Ranch in Loveland is beautiful, Tapestry House in FC is really pretty and has a barn on the property and a gazebo, Sylvan Dale Ranch, spruce mountain ranch, meadows at marshdale, the barn at evergreen memorial park, lionsgate, botanical gardens, and the butterfly pavillion these are all places my freind looked at for her rustic wedding and some a very unique ideas hope this helps as well-I grew up in CO so if you have any questions at all just let me know
  • ErinW1912...you are so sweet!!! Thank you! Thank you!! I will be looking all of those suggestions up today:
  • I'm using Events Unwrapped for day-of coordination and just not sure it is worth it.  I hope in the long run it will be.  Extensive contract and then three other mega documents to fill out and expectation that you will send in copies of all the contracts, etc...I feel like my to-do list got twice as long when I hired the planner.  Just my POV.  I know others here really think highly of them and I would like to think it will save stress on that day.
  • My fiancé and I just hired A Touch of Bliss Events in Denver to help plan our wedding.  I would highly recommend them, I've only had 2 meetings with them and I feel so much less stressed about my wedding!  I'm doing a rustic wedding in Estes Park.  Their website is touchofblissevents.com and their blog is http://www.bunchesofbliss.com/.
  • I hired Danielle with Something Classic Events and she was a dream to work with!  She was the best during planning and on the day of the wedding.  I don't know what I would have done without her!  Best money I spent on the wedding.
  • Jenallaboutpink -- I have vintage mismatched chairs for rent. It could go well with your rustic theme. Send me an email if you're interested at chairswithcharacter@gmail.com and we can meet up for coffee to chat.
