I am so livid right now.
FI's family and I went up to where we are having our wedding last weekend to look at venues. Before planning any visits, I called (multiple times) to make sure that our specific date was available. We already booked the church, so we are not flexible on the date.
We saw this gorgeous place that is outdoors and so different than all the country clubs we looked at. We told the coordinator our date muliple times (via email, on the phone before visiting, and several times while we were looking at the venue).
After visiting, we were basically decided, but the space requires that you bring everything in. We are crunching numbers to see what the total cost will be before we book. I emailed her twice asking her if we can tentatively hold the date and be notified if anyone else is considering it.
Today, I emailed her to ask if the ground is level enough for a floor in the tent, and she responds by telling me that our date is already taken! When I told her that I am a little disappointed that we were not notified, she tells us that the date has been booked since February! So, why did we waste all that time looking at it? I mentioned every time I talked to her our date.
I am so disappointed and upset. Now, we are trying to move the church and see if they have any other dates around then available. Our second choice venue contacted us to say that someone else is interested. I'm so torn and feel pressured to decide on something.
