Reception Locations

This board looks pretty empty but I thought I would give it a shot. We are looking for a reception location for my sisters wedding. 100-150 people, and a place that she can bring in her own food. She's on a pretty small budget. We looked at Riechmann Pavilion but it is booked, any other ideas?

Hey, I have been looking for places in Columbia (I got Riechmann pavilion, but I booked a year and a half in advance, CRAZY!!). Other places that I found very nice were Stephens grandball room and they also have another old Victorian looking building that my friend rented that was completely amazing. The Victorian building my friend had thier staff serve food, but I do not know if you would be able to bring your own food. Heres the link:http://www.stephens.edu/services/events/weddings/My cousin was married at this outdoor location that was very very nice. You are allowed to provided your own food. http://www.alpineparkandgardens.com/I have also been to to Les Bougidous (probably really mispelled the name). Its a beautiful vineyard that overlooks the missouri river. I know you cannot bring your own food. http://www.missouriwine.com/Private-Events.phpHonesly, if you want to be able to brind your own food I would try to find a small public park and get permission to have the weding there you could rent a tent from A-1 rentals (I have checked prices and they are not to bad) and do an outside type of thing. If you want a church you might try Olivet its right outside of columbia on broadway (10 mins) a friend of mine was married there and they have a little outside place to get married and it is very nice. http://olivetchristianchurch.missouri.org/

My reception is at the ballroom at Stephan's College. You can't bring your own food there and if you don't have a full dinner you have to pay over $4 per person for linens. So if anyone wants to go here make sure you check into all the small details like that..because they really add up.

My colleague's daughter had her reception at the Hampton Inn and she was allowed to use an outside caterer.

Hi there - Alpine can be gorgeous with a little work.  You can check out some pictures at http://celebrationsbykc.blogspot.com/.

I'm using the 4-H Center in Mexico, MO. They have a large conference room (where we're getting married) and an even larger exhibit hall (where we're having the reception). PLENTY of parking, recently remodeled, and a fully stocked kitchen is included in the rental. It's 800 dollars to rent, but it has a 300 dollar deposit. You can decorate however you'd like, bring in any caterer you'd like. You can't use confetti though! But i think that's a small, messy sacrifice to make for unlimited parking and open catering policies.
