San Diego destination wedding advice

Hello! I live in the dc area and my fiancee and I were planning a destination wedding in San Diego next July. I've heard nothing but spectacular things about SD, so I was looking into finding a nice rental home overlooking the water. We plan to have around 30-50 people and wanted a very informal, yet intimate ceremony at a nice house with the perfect view. Can anyone recommend a particular house ideal for this type of setting? I've been browsing around aimlessly... Particularly at vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner) Any feedback is much appreciated!!

Rental homes overlooking the water in July are going to be EXPENSIVE, but I'm sure you've seen prices on that website. Have you been browing Craigslist? Another option would be to have your ceremony at a park (seagrove park, cuvier park) and then your reception at a restaurant like George's on the Cove in La Jolla.

Have you checked out Ocean View Villas? It is a group of villas overlooking the ocean that you rent for a few days.  Very Do-it-yourself but some of the pictures are gorgeous.

beachfrontonly.com has a wedding package that rents out a big house (I think it sleeps like 60) and you can get married on the roof overlooking the beach. We looked into this for our wedding, but it was just a little more than we wanted to spend. It's also in Oceanside, which is about 45 - 60 minutes north of the city, but it's nice for keeping everyone in the same place.

I would check out North county - like Solana Beach or Del Mar. San Diego is great in July but the beach areas are really congested. You could also try La Jolla.
