How much $$ for flowers and decoration of reception site?

I am currently evaluating the offer from my florist for our reception site for her flower services (Church decoration, all flowers for bride/groom, wedding party, table decoration at the reception site). I am not sure how much is usually spent on flowers. How much did you spent on your flower/decoration services? -Anja

Ok I may not be the bestttt of help in this situation because I have a little inside knowledge on flowers ect but I am getting all my flowers for about 1500-2000....probably closer to 2000 total, and I am getting a LOT. I would say though that for a normal florist you are going to pay quite a bit for your flowers because they are very labor intensive and the price that the florist will have to pay for the flowers can vary dramatically. If you dont mind sharing what exactly you are getting and how much I can try to help a little more

Ya, flowers were way more expensive than I expected.  I got a minimal amount and paid $800.  I have more details at the bottom of my bio in Vendor Reviews.  I LOVED what I did get though, she was AMAZING!

I DIY all our flowers for under $400 from the farmers Market. If your interested I can give you the flower farmers info if you are looking into DIY instead. We had a TON of flowers too. xo

I also spent about $2000 on flowers.  This included a cascading bouquet for me, six bouquets for the bridesmaids, 9 bouteneirs, 3 corsages, two very large church pieces that were moved to the reception, 13 flower center pieces at the reception, and a large flower decoration on the sweetheart table.  Oh, and I also purchased pew bows for the church from the florist.  So, we did spend a lot but I felt we got a pretty good amount of flowers for what we paid.  The florist did a beautiful job and our wedding was the evening before Mother's Day!
