Hello everyone! I always enjoyed reading the vendor reviews, so here are mine: Venue: Ponte Winery Grade: B+ Details: I would love, love, love to give this place the A+ it so deserves, but there were some rather glaring issues which prevent it. The location is beautiful and everyone thought it was amazing. The staff is professional and attentive. The ambiance of the Barrell Room is unmatched. The issues were as follows: the coordinator was great, for the most part, but she failed to update information or give full disclosure on certain details, such as the fact that they have live music for their dining area on Fridays...this worked out well for my cocktail hour since the DJ wouldn't have been able to play my music anyway (another detail not disclosed to me...ever!). She changed my seating arrangements without telling me and my wonderful matron-of-honor spent quite a bit of time directing the staff on the proper table arrangements/names despite my turning in a detailed map provided by the coordinator herself. :-( My parents ended up on the opposite side of the room and his parents weren't anywhere near the head table. In the end, no one knew the issues except me and my bridesmaids...the room did turn out gorgeous and everyone had a great time. The surprise live music actually went very well with my theme....just wish they had told us! Oh, and the food was AMAZING! So, aside from the view this place has some good food going for it. We have a lot of food snob friends and no one found anything to complain about! Cake: Joddee's Bakery in Temecula Grade: A+++ Details: This vendor was the best vendor we hired. I honestly never worried for any length of time. The staff is great! The cake was the best wedding cake anyone had ever had! It looked exactly as I had designed and the flavors were amazing. You can't go wrong with this cake vendor! DJ: DJ Guys Grade: D Details: Let me first say that the actual DJ himself did a pretty good job. The poor grade isn't from the DJ but the owner of the company. This company is owned by a snake oil salesman if ever I saw one! He never turned anything in on time, I had to chase him down for 3 weeks over the insurance and he flat out lied to us about our DJ calling us. He never returned emails and was difficult to track down (I finally showed up on his doorstep one day to collect the insurance because we had already paid him in full...). Do NOT use this company!!! I can't stress this enough. We had already paid in full (per his policy) so we were stuck...the actual DJ turned out to be okay although he didn't have the correct timeline or music selection...once that was ironed out he did pretty well. My only complaint against the DJ himself was that he took over my carefully thought out timeline and used his own once the reception started. Again, I was the only one to notice, but still... Photos: Patti Patterson Grade: A- Details: Patti is a sweetheart. She does amazing work and is easy going...perhaps a little too easy going. I love my engagement photos and she showed up on time for the wedding, but she isn't too forthcoming with her photo ideas; she has some good ideas but it takes a while to get them out of her. I was also irritated that I created a detailed photo outline and sent it to her via email and gave her a printed one that day, yet I had to prompt her to even look at it to be sure I got all the photos I wanted! That was annoying. Otherwise, she is a great and affordable photog! I do recommend using her but just be sure you know exactly what you want and aren't afraid to push it. :-) Officiant: Pastor Mike Grade: A Details: Pastor Mike is wonderful and affordable! I got a little nervous because I read a couple of bad reviews in the past month, but he showed up on time and read the vows we chose. My only issue is that it only took hime 5 minutes to complete our ceremony! Granted, we wanted short and sweet, but our read-through took about 10 minutes...but day of he breezed right through. In fact, my husband hesitated on his vows because he was so surprised they came so fast! We did get some comments on how short the ceremony was, but they did enjoy his delivery. Flowers: Mission Hills Florist Grade: A Details: I didn't have too many flowers; bouquets were calla lilies and the tables had white rose petals. Everything turned out great. The ribbon on the bouqets wasn't what we originally discussed, but everything still looked great! Hope this helps! Oh, I bought my dress from Demetrios; had gold hurricane vases from Pier One as the centerpiece (looked amazing!); hair was by Mei-Le Rockot, but she doesn't do a lot of weddings (she was perfect though!); make-up by Mel Potter ( a friend of my husband's and she is also amazing!). Good luck brides-to-be! Devon
