wedding band shopping

Can anyone recommend a jeweler for wedding band shopping?  Somewhere where they won't show their boredom after looking at a few bands???  Or somewhere where they won't let us stand there for 10 minutes without acknowledging us.  We went to JARED in mission valley, the woman who spoke to us upon walking in passed us off to someone else, the manager.  He asked if she was with someone and she said yes.  We stood in front of a case and had three bands picked out to look at....if only someone would come help us.  The woman who we spoke to initially ended up standing behind a case playing with her hair, not helping anyone.  I was watching her and she looked right at me before just walking around in a few circles.  The manager stood next to us arguing with another client for a bit and walked past us 3 separate times after handing his client off to someone else.  Yet another salesperson walked by us two more times and then went and stood next to another salesperson not doing anything.  I have a .50 ct diamond ring on my hand people, it's not like we're a couple of kids just playing around.  Did they ignore us because I had a bandana on my head and some tattoos showing?  Whatever the reason, it was highly offensive, and I caution anyone against shopping there.

We found FI's at Robbins Bros, and we ordered mine from Blue Nile...  (pics are in my signature) The staff at Robbins Bros treated us very well, and were very prompt at getting the band, and has lifetime warranty for dipping/resizing/engraving.

Oh man! I'm sorry to hear that, jreneb!

That's the one we've gone to since we got the ring... the staff can be like that sometimes, but one of the younger guys there, Jeremy, is actually pretty nice and definitely helped my fiance and me out when we were looking at a new diamond. But I know what you mean about standing there waiting for someone to help!

I've heard good things about Robbins Bros though!

    Good Luck!!!

the best part is there were only two other shoppers in the store.  I can understand waiting, but to tell us to wait and then avoid any eye contact?  it was embarassing and upsetting

We had and amazing experience both times that we went to Robbin's Brothers to shop. They were really helpful (almost overly helpful). I tried on so many rings the first time we had to go back and get a fresh perspective. The service girl when I went back in to get my ring sized was less helpful, but still got the job done.

I highly, highly recommend you visit Gene at Serengeti jewlers in the jewler's exchange in downtown (6th Ave) - need to make an appointment.  My grandparents used them, my parents use them, and now my FI and I are using them.  My fiance visited several jewlers when looking for my engagement ring, and Gene was so helpful (willing to educate you on jewerly) and so competitive on his prices, that he ended up buying the diamond there.  I have a (beautiful) "loaner" setting right now, which my  FI proposed with.  My FI and I went in after we got engaged to look at permanent settings for the diamond, and especially since I liked this loaner setting so much (it's what I want permanently), Gene said to hold off on designing the engagment setting until we figure out what we want for our wedding rings.  That way we can make the designs complement each other.  Go in and make the decision for yourself.  I think you will be impressed.

Thanks everyone.  We looked at robbins bros, that's where my engagement ring came from, but nothing there really said "my wedding ring".  We did go into a different Jareds and of course I immediately told the woman helping us what happened at the other store.  She was very apologetic and helpful.  Found out what we had in mind and by the 4th ring, I had found the one.  It is perfect and gave me chills as soon as I put it on with my engagement ring.
    woo hoo!
