San Diego Brides!!!

Best Venues?!?!?! I'd love the beach or at least the beach in the background. I just started looking for venues to go look at and MAN it's overwhelming already :)

Hi Kay! Welcome to the San Diego board! :) Do you have an estimate of how many guests you will have and a rough budget for venue / catering? There are a wide range of suggestions I could make but it would be easiest to give you suggestions based on those two things.

My personal opinion on the Hilton Mission Bay is that it gets REAAALLLY windy over by the ceremony site. I work in the wedding industry and have been there twice in the past year and the ceremony site was incredibly windy even in otherwise good sunny weather. Just keep that in mind. It does a number on hairdos. :)

I just saw your other post with 150 people and a $30 k general budget.

    Try:

-Scripps Seaside Forum - very modern and cool. Ceremony on the grass above the ocean with beach access for photos. ***I love this one!
-La Jolla Cove Suites (hotel rooms are not super nice.. they're a bit outdated but the rooftop deck with views of the ocean is beautiful!)
-La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla (might be over-budget, though)
-The Dana Mission Bay (also along these general lines The Bahia, The Catamaran)

I will try to keep thinking of more ideas :) Let us know how your search goes.

    Thanks!!!

So far we have looked at L'Auberge which I absolitely am in love with. It's a little expensive bet we were thinking maybe if we could cut down to 100 then we could splurge a little more. We looked at the Prado in Balboa park which is very nice but is not us. We need Ocean!

We are looking at Hilton Mission Bay next weekend and the Catamaran the weekend after that.

I haven't heard of Scripps Seaside Forum so i'll look into that. I heard negative things on La Jolla Cove Suites so we are just skipping over it to be safe.

La Valenica- we decided we'd rather L'Auberge if we are going to go the more expensive route.

So exciting! We are pretty far out (estimating 7-19-13) but we just want to have the place so we can focus on other things!!

    Thanks for the help!!

La Jolla Shores Hotel or La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, they have weddings ON the beach (as long as its not July/Aug)...
