Need help - possible wedding up North??

My fiance and I can't decide if we want to get married in Minneapolis (McNamara or IMS) or save at least half the cost and get married up North where we both have some family.  Does anyone know of reception venues near the Iron Range?  We looked at Giants Ridge's website but I've never been there, so I don't know if it would be a good location or not.  Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated!

    I'm actually from Virginia. Giants Ridge is actually pretty nice. Though I haven't been to a reception of any kind at Fortune Bay, I've heard they're good too.

    giants ridge is nice.  or fortune bay.  if you're looking for the side of the range the androy in hibbing is very nice.

    We just had our reception at Grand Superior Lodge in Two Harbors.  Overall they did a really great job.  I found it easy to work with their event coordinator from afar.  A lot of things were cheaper than the cities.  However lodging in some of the resort areas can get really expensive. 
    We loved the backdrop for the weeked and wouldn't have changed a thing!
