First Dance & Father/Daughter Songs

Having trouble deciding and looking for something more original...

I'm curious as to what songs everyone is choosing for their first dance and the father/daughter dance?

We didn't use any of the 'traditional' first dance and father/ daughter dance songs.  We used Everything by Michael Buble, it is my favorite song and the lyrics seemed perfect.  I used Only One by James Taylor for the father/ daughter dance song.  My dad used to sing this song to me when I was a little girl and figured it would mean a lot more to him than any of the 'traditional' songs used for the father/ daughter dance.

Here were the songs we used:

Processional Bridesmaids:  “Love and Some Verses”, Iron & Wine

Brides processional: “Waiting on an Angel”, Ben Harper

Recessional: “For Once in my Life”, Stevie Wonder

Wedding Party/Bride & Groom Entrance: “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher”, Jackie Wilson

Bride/Groom 1^st dance: “Let’s Stay together”, Al Green

F/D, M/S dance: “In My Life”, The Beatles

We also used some nontraditional songs. Maybe it will give you some inspiration.

Our first dance is Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"
My father daughter dance is GunsNRoses' "Sweet Child of Mine"
My dad is dedicating a song to me that is supposedly embarassing, I think one he used to sing to me. I am also dedicating a Metallica song to my dad. We love music and its our thing.

We danced to I don't wanna miss a thing from aerosmith and my dad and i danced to I loved her first from heartland. I have a picture of my dad and I and my mom is in the background and it looks like she was about to cry. I love that picture. I wish it wasn't so grainy I would have it enlarged and framed.

We're using either "Stay with You" by John Legend or "You & Me" by Dave Matthews for our 1st dance song.

Our first dance was "Moonlight Serenade" by the Glenn MIller Orchestra.  We also had our parents join in after a few minutes.

Our father/daughter dance was "Daughters" by John Mayer, and we asked all the fathers and daughters to join in after a few minutes, too.  I got a lot of compliments on that afterwards.

Our first dance song is pretty unique I think. We are dancing to Journey's Don't Stop Believin'. It's not a slow song but it's our song!! My dad and I are dancing to Loundon Wainwright III's Daughter. The lyrics are perfect.

Our first dance song was "At Last" by etna james or either beyonce's version not sure..I love the older classic songs. My dad and I danced to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.
