A toast

My FI and I decided to ditch the idea of writing our own vows as I have a terrible problem with memory! So I was wondering if the bride toasting the groom at the reception is so unusual?

I've seen it done a couple of times. I wouldn't worry so much as to if it's "unusual" or not, if you want to make a toast to your FI at the wedding, I say go for it! Are you having a best man & maid of honor give speeches as well? If yes, I'd just try to keep the speeches somewhat short so people aren't listening to speeches forever.

I've never seen a 'memorized' self-written vow at any weddinng.  They've all been written down and read.  Would you consider doing that?

I'm gonna go for it then! Belle, another part of not doing the vows during the ceremony is we want to keep it as short as possible.
