Some of you may remember that I don't actually have an oven. Another of the gazillion reasons I'm ready to move out of this apartment! Because I loooove baking! Anyway, our genius landlord had installed a countertop type of thing that's made up of a stove, sink and a bit of counter space in between. So it's one metal piece with cabinets underneath. If I ever wanted to get an oven, I'd have to cut stovetop part of the metal slab (which I'm positive is not possible without ruining the whole thing) or take out the whole thing and install a new counter and sink. Yeah right. But FI wanted us to finally have our oven before my family comes and anyway because we'll be moving into a bigger place soon.
Last week we passed by store that was setting up for a huge sale the next morning. They were pulling out all of their slightly damaged pieces and selling them at great discount prices. And let me tell you, this NEVER happens here. There are NEVER real or good sales and even worse on really expensive imported home electronics. We got a 6-range Whirlpool gas stove/ oven at 60% off!! The stovetop is a little scratched but it all gets covered by the range grates so you never see it. The biggest damage is a dent made into the oven door handle. But it's right in the middle where I can conveniently hang a cute kitchen towel. There's a few other things, but all of them are fixable. And most importantly none of them are functional issues, solely external aesthetic things where the store couldn't sell it as brand new. The price dropped from almost $1,000 to about $350! It had been 50% but FI being the awesome negotiator he is, got it for even less
I just got the call they're going to install it tonight so I got all excited again. Yayy I can finally bake things at my own house lol!!
