I'm back from my August 1, 2010 wedding and honeymoon to Vancouver, BC!!!
Our wedding was the most amazing day of my life! Everything turned out even better than I could have imagined it. It was flawless! Thanks to all our amazing vendors who made the day possible--
Here's some teaser photos from our photographer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPffxK02SLoInvitations: Giddy Ink A++. Lauren at Giddy Ink met with us to discuss our vision for the wedding, and really created an invitation suite that set the tone for the whole wedding weekend-- art deco theme with a feel of nature ( I know our theme didn't make a lot of sense, but it really worked!). No, they weren't cheap, but they were spectacular and we only got rave reviews from our guests about how gorgeous the invitations were-- it pumped up the excitement for the whole wedding weekend!
Dress: Bridal and Formal: A. I worked with Tracy, who really took my under her wing, made me feel like a princess, and help me pick out the perfect dress! The only thing is that I bought a size up when I ended up losing some weight and the size down would have fit better. Not their fault.
Band: Airwaves: A+. They were amazing! We hired the 9 piece band, and had very specific requests for which songs we wanted and which songs we didn't. They stuck to our list 100% and every song they played I was more excited about than the one before it! They even learned a special song for the father/daughter dance, and it sounded so amazing, dad and I were both crying!
Flowers: Eden Floral: A+. Kelly and Kelly helped us come up with a design based on an inspiration my mom had found on another florists website in California. They excecuted it even better than the inspiration, and I was blown away with how gorgeous the room looked. They even incorporated interesting florals including red cabbage and fiddlesticks!
Coordinator: Elegant Events by Elisa: A++. Wow wow wow! Elisa and her crew made the whole day, from getting ready at 9:30 to pictures to the ceremony and reception run without a hitch. They definitely elevated the day from great to out of this world! We couldn't have done it without them.
Photographer: Ron Shuller: A. So far the pictures I've seen are great. Ron was really easy to work with and good at organizing our big families for group pictures. I do wish that we had more candids and photojournalist pictures, though.
Alterations: Tony King: A. Tony may be talked about on these boards as having an excentric personality but I loved working with him. He did wonders to a dress that was 2 sizes too big and had 4 or more layers of fabric.
Accessories(Headband): Paris by Debra Moreland: A+. I am obsessed with the headband I bought at Bridal and Formal from Paris by Debra Moreland.
Hair: Fayme Hayes and Mary Beth at Cura Bella Salon: A+. Fayme did my hair and my bridesmaid's, and Mary Beth did my mom's and mother-in-laws. Everyone's turned out perfectly and they are so sweet and fun to work with! Love them!
Makeup: Nancy at Brideface: A+ Nancy knew exactly what I wanted, made it look flawless, and it stayed on through the ceremony until i got all sweaty during the hora!
Catering: Nathan Lane: A Nathan Lane is the caterer that is hired by the synagogue, but he really blew it out of the park. The food was absolutely incredible, and didn't even taste like wedding food. His display of fruit was unreal.
Chocolate: Karen Zimmerman: A. I wish I had a picture of this 40 foot chocolate table that Karen created. It honestly looked like the inside of a chocolate store at the mall. I didn't get to try any (too busy dancing!) but we had people raving about it,
Tuxes: Folchis: A+. My H took care of the tuxes, but he was raving about how easy Folchi's was to work with, and how reasonably priced it was. All our groomsmen were from out of town. When they picked their tuxes up 2 days before the wedding, a few did not fit at all. no problem, folchi's wearhouse is in the basement of the store in Kenwood, so finding the right size was a no-brainer.
