Cincinnati Photographers

Hi there!  I actually live in Cincinnati, but I'm getting married in Columbus so I spend most of my time on those boards.  I am working on photographers and could use some recs.  It seems most will travel and since we want engagement photos at Miami, I figure I could use a Cincy based photographer.  The only one I've heard of is Steph Carson.  Any advice is appreciated!  Thanks!

I used/am using CJ Photography (Christina). She is local (Mason) but serves Columbus as well. I have really enjoyed using her. I used her after seeing her work on one of my friends weddings. Her work can be seen here: http://www.cjphotoonline.com/

I would give them a try; as you know there are A LOT of photographers out there.

    Hope that helped!

Just posted this on another thread - but I for sure recommend Innovatory Photography. We just booked with them & of all the decisions we have made so far this is one of the ones I am most excited about!

We are doing engagement photos with Written Bliss Photography, http://writtenblissphotography.com/blog/ . She is in Columbus. She is just starting out so her prices are great and I really love her style.

    Standard photog response:

We went with Steph Carson, www.stephcarson.com (photo goddess extraordinaire - you can see pics in my bio), but we also seriously looked at the following people:

    Steve Lyons - www.lyonsphotography.com
    Cindy Wagner - www.wagnerphotographics.com

We also looked at Tine Hoffman, but she was booked for our day.  I did get to use her for bpics though (and she is FABULOUS at those, best in the Cinti area IMO) so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her: www.tmphotography.net

Finally, I hadn't heard of them before seeing kelklump's wedding, but Studio3z's work is impressing me lately - http://www.studio3z.com/

    hth, and gl!

I just posted this comment on another thread - but We're going with Jonathan Gibson.  He's also just starting out, so his prices are good.  Our friends used him, and loved him!  http://www.jonathangibsonphotography.com
I've seen that he does destination weddings, so I'm betting Columbus isn't a problem...
    Good Luck!

Bambino photography did our epics. They were fantastic, but out of my price range.  Also I love Steph Carson's photos too.

I second caseyandlizzie's recommendation on Lisa Rice Photography.  Her travel fee is likely to be around $75 from Columbus so don't let location deter you.  imo, her skill level is worth at least $2k but she only charges starting $800.

I also recommend Tracy Doyle Photography.  Her packages start at $1.9k.  She's our wedding photographer.

I second Studio 3 Photography. We just had amazing engagement pics taken and we were so impressed by those gals. We almost cancelled because it was a rainy day but they assured us that rainy days could be fun and we LOVE our pictures. Studio3photographygallery.com is their website. I think their starting price is around 700.

Have fun planning!! We have all the cake testing set up for Saturday and are going to do our registry Sunday. FI will LOVE the scan gun...I just know it!

Not to be rude, but I would highly suggest that you take a look at the Community Rules, specifically these ones:

"Any member of our community, including a bride, involved in a wedding related business must adhere to the same rules as wedding professionals and are not permitted to post on The Knot message boards."

"While we don't allow vendors to post on our message boards, if you are a wedding professional with a question about a post regarding your business; we may, in our sole discretion, post a statement submitted by you, on your behalf. Please email messageboards@theknot.com for more information."

If you are a bride and would like to continue posting, itwould probably be best if you created a screen name that wasn't your wedding business name.

Check out 808 Studios up in Dayton, Ohio.  GREAT guy -- Nick O'Donnell, and he'll bend over backwards for you.  :)  I met with him one last time before our wedding coming up, and every time I meet with him I'm more and more confident that he'll do a wonderful job.  All of his packages include engagement sessions, full day coverage, unlimited miles/locations (meaning he'll go to Columbus!), and he's got a great eye for photographs.  He's actually a newlywed himself too, and he's an award-winning photog.

Mandrietti -- I'm on the girl on the Cbus board that was looking for a shoe dye job and you recommended your dad and Easton shoes.  :)  Thanks for the rec, but I guess my shoes weren't meant to be dyed.  I'm on the hunt for new ones!

    GL with your planning!

Oh, feel free to PM me or send me your email if you want rates and other info about 808.  They were the first people I booked for my wedding over a year ago for my Columbus wedding.  :)

Ohh haha, sorry to take over your thread, but I JUST read that you wanted pics at Miami!  That's why I booked Nick!  lol, FI and I are college sweethearts from Miami too and he traveled there for a nearly two hour engagement session for us at no cost, and it was awesome!  We shot in the rain, and it was a lot of fun!  Tell him Alice says hi!

Thanks for the wealth of info Alice!  Sorry to hear about the shoes :-(  My dad said dying can be really tricky and if shoes aren't made for it, they can get ruined really fast or have some bad bleeding/discoloring.  Hence why he tries to avoid it.  Good luck with the shoe hunt - I haven't started on attire yet (2 more weeks), but if I catch any good places, I'll let you know.

I'm really excited about going back to Oxford -awesome scenery and we haven't been back for a year or 2, so I know we'll have some great expressions as we explore the area for the first time in awhile.  I know a lot has changed!
