Michael Bambino

So my fiance and I went to meet with photographers over the weekend and were BLOWN away by Michael.  His skill level is off the charts compared to the others we met.  Unfortunately, he is personally booked on our wedding day so we would have to work with another of his "lead" photographers.  He recommended Stacey Lucas or Steve Bova, although there are a few others on the list.  Does anyone have experience with the other lead photographers at Bambino?

What I would do is ask to meet with several of them and then ask to see their individual work specifically. Theirs will be different from his, and you want to see what they have to offer and see if you click with them. My friend who used them, Micheal did the engagement and LOVED the e-pics...but then were not as happy with the wedding pictures. I think they were still good, but in comparison...they were not the style they loved. She wished that they had used their booked photographer for the e-pics to see her style.

    Goodluck!

We are using Michael Bambino Co! He is amazing and I love all the photographers different styles. Unfortunately, I havn't had my wedding yet so I don't have any experience other than with Michael, himself for the engagement session. The one thing I was a little upset about though was the fact that he never told me my engagement photos were going to be all black and white. I do love all of them but I would have liked a few in color. Since they are a studio that does almost all film... you basically have to pick one or the other and since his specialty is black and white I guess i shouldn't be surprised. He def should have to me though. We are going with Steve Bova. I am sure you have already done this but you can look at each photographers style on their website. Good luck!

Thanks everyone.  Michael recommended that we use Steve or Stacey, so we're going to meet both of them later this week and take look at some of their work.  I do like that we get to work with Michael on the e-pics at least.

We are having Michael for our wedding. For the e pics I found out on The knot beforehand that he did only black and white so when we went there I just asked him for the color and he had no problem with it. If you want to look at our e pics you can go to

This is all but a couple of the photos that I used to design our guest book. We had our daughter in some of them.

You're pics are beautiful.  I agree that I do like the mix of black and white.  There are certain pics that are made for the black and white, but others have to have the color or they just don't do anything.  I'll make note that we need to request that.

Mrs Bedwell, Did Micheal himself do your engagement pictures ior another person at his studio? I think the three of you look beautiful in all of them & they are traditional. Did you choose to do the same posing multiple times or were those just your favorite kind of poses/pictures? We were thinking of him because we have heard great things, but we want a lot of variety and more photojournalism. I look at his samples & they look amazing, but I do not like traditional & posed pictures for us. Is that something that I would tell him? Can you change outfits & go to any location? Sorry for 20 questions! We are trying to make appointments for over the weekend & want to have this narrowed to a list of five to see.

Definitely go to his studio and look at the books.  He has tons of complete albums that show what your looking for.  When we met him, he's definitely not into "posing" people and specializes in photojournalism - but more artsy because I think a lot of photographers say that is their style.  He tells you he will do whatever you want, so if you want a handful of formal, posed pics, he'll make sure they happen.  I heard about him from 2 of my co-workers who used him and their albums have a great mix of photo styles.  From what we understood (since Michael was booked :-( ) is that he does every e-pic shoot because he wants to meet all the clients.  I would like to have the lead photographer who will do my wedding there though too because it's our chance to get comfortable with him.  We go back Thursday, so we'll see!

If you're into the photojournalism, make sure you see Steph Carson and Daniel Michael.  I've seen work by Kortnee Kate and Tine Huffman and both look amazing too, although I haven't met them.
