Hey, where did everyone get their wedding dresses cleaned? I know Widmer's does a good job but I was wondering if there was any place a little bit less expensive.

Careful with Widmers....They ruined a (non wedding) dress of mine because it had embellishments.  They were honest and upfront but make sure you are really clear about what kind of cleaning is going to be done

I just called around to a few places.

I ended up going with Sunshine's Cold Spring location because Laura, the person who works with dresses there, really took the time to explain things to me.  Also, another knottie recommended Atlas Cleaners in Newport...they actually send their dresses to Sunshine (you can look for my post below).  Sunshine is $129 for spot cleaning, pressing, and steaming.  You can also get your dress preserved with Sunshine.

Widmer's was $235 and Anthony's was $65 for cleaning and $65 for steaming and pressing.  I've seen people recommend Anthony's on here as well.

That said, II really can't speak from experience. 

I pick my dress up in a few weeks and hopefully it will be bright and shiny.  Fingers crossed!

I recommended Atlas - I didn't know that they sent out their wedding dresses? But whatever you do, do NOT go to Vanover Cleaners in Ready! They almost ruined my wedding gown before my wedding!
