check out my dress..need opinions

ok so obviously this is not me in the dress....cant get them on here for some reason, keeps saying pics are too big. i love this dress and it was the only that i cried when i put it on......here is my one BIG issue though....when you look at these pics, does it look like its a two piece dress??? ive had two people ask me that when i showed them pics with me in and its bothering the crap out of me only  because i KIND OF felt the same way.....but thought i was over analyzing it.but its the part where you can tell the boning/inner corset ends that bothers me. i wasnt that worried about it when i bought it because the seamstress said they could remove it so i didnt care. nosw they are saying that they CANT remove it because the designer takes the top and bottom and sows it together at the middle. i didnt try the slip on with it last time i went to try it on...so im hoping maybe that will make it less noticeable, i just feel like your eye shouldnt stop right there, the whole dress should just flow. i talked to the owner and she made an appt for the 14th to go to her specialty seamstress that works with designers to see what she could do. am i seriously looking into this way too much or can you guys see what im talking about?

  • your dress is so pretty! I see what you are talking about but its only because you brought it to my attention.

aww thank you!! i really DO love it...its just that ending line that i hate for some reason!
  • I see what you are talking about, but it doesn't take away from the dress at all.  I would work with your seamstress to see what your options are.  Maybe the slip will help and possibly some crinoline to make the skirt poof just a little bit more so it looks like the dress is going outwards a little more?
  • I think your dress is really pretty.  I do see the line but I don't know if that's because I was told it was there or if I would've seen it myself.  Sorry I'm not more helpful, but if you don't like it try and get something done about it because if you don't feel confident in your dress or don't like it it will show in the pictures.

    That's exactly what I was thinking :)
  • I definitely see what you're talking about but I IMHO I don't think it makes the dress look "less flowing" at all. The corset is gorgeous, you have nothing to worry about!

  • It's very beautiful! But I do see what you're talking about, I notice things like that. Is this a dress you tried on or one that you've bought?

one that i bought....but before i did the shop told me they could always remove the lining inside, plus it was too big on me so i figured it was just that. but MY actual dress came in and i can still see it. thats the only thing that bothers me about it....and ive seen other dresses that look very similiar and dont have that.

my thoughts exactly! i hope it works!
  • thanks for the imput ladies! i know that the seamstress will be able to tweak something probably very minor that will make it look better (and make me stop being captain insane-o lol)
  • Honestly I would have never noticed if you didn't say anything. To be honest, I was looking at the pictures before I even read your post and I thought, "how beautiful!!!" and I didn't notice anything until you said it. I don't think it's a big deal- it's still beautiful.

    I love it!

  • i absolutely LOVE your dress - i would have never in a million years noticed the "two piece" issue unless you had mentioned it.

at the boutique where i bought my dress, their seamstress is an absolute MASTER - hopefully yours is too. i am sure she could do anything at all that you wanted to help "cover up" the two piece situation. add a sash, add some extra "pouf" to your dress, take something out...but seriously, i don't think anything at all needs to be done. i just think it would be better for you - and put you at ease - if you talk to your seamstress about options on how to fix your one concern about your dress.
  • I think the dress is really nice I would not fret about it.  I only noticed it b/c you brought it to my attention.
