Wedding Cake HELP!!!

I am looking for a baker in Northern Kentucky that does a good job with wedding cakes but DOESN"T cost an arm and a leg.  I think its so ridiculous to spend a ton of money on a wedding cake when there are other things to worry more about.  I have been struggling with this and simply cannot justify spending $2.50/slice.  Any ideas?

my sister used Marilyn in Northern Kentucky a couple years ago for her cake, she had a small 2 tier cake on display and we had a sheet cake in the back, all the cakes where different flavors and fillings and she was very reasonable in price. I believe her web page is Marilyn's cakes

I used Flying Buttercream. I paid $1.40 per slice. We did a tasting at Maribelle (knowing we couldn't afford it but wanting to taste it) and Flying Buttercreams cakes were honestly just as good. She's really flexible and it was beautiful. Here's a pic!

I used Flying Buttercream as well - and she is fabulous.  Another suggestion might be Affordable Wedding Creations in Covington.  That is where I got my flowers - they also do cakes as well.

I'd say affordable wedding creations too. Honestly in the land of wedding things $2.50 a slice is on the cheaper end. Thats around what you'll find. I had a prob with this too, so I enlisted a cousin to do mine. If you know of any bakers in your family, hit them up! They will prob even gift it as your wedding gift. Thats what my cousin did

We had an unhappy experience with Affordable Wedding Creations last week end, when we cut the cake and found that there was no chocolate with fudge filling layer, as we had ordered.  But worse than that, when made aware of their error the owner was rude and uncaring, saying, "I don't know what you want me to do about it now?"  Make your own decision, but they were very rude to us.

I also recommend Marilyn's Cakes. She works out of her house and has a bakery in her basement in Ludlow.
