Reception Venue Reviews

We have our reception venue narrowed down to 4 choices and we're going to check them out this coming weekend. I was wondering what people thought of the venues: The Madison, The Elements, Cincinnati Art Museum, and The Redmoor. Thanks =)

Art museum is expensive and worth it.  Dramatic and gorgeous.  The others are much more casual venues, I think.  The only one I have never been to is Elements, and all I know about them is what I saw on that episode of Bridezillas.  But I think they are all very nice places.

I went to a wedding at Elements and everything went very smoothly.  There were two or three coordinators and then others attending bar and food and they were on top of everything.  I talked to the bride afterwards and she said the staff was very easy to work with.  She was planning the wedding from several states away and they took care of everything for her.  So if that's what you want, I'm sure they'd be a good choice.  But in my opinion it lacks style and where it is located is really weird - it's inside sort of a strip mall.

I agree w/ pp - Elements doesn't have the "wow" factor when your guests arrive since it is in a strip mall. The rooms are kind of choppy since the bar is in separate location than where your guests will be seated, but to each his own.

I would prefer Cincinnati Art Museum.

Elements for sure just went to a wedding there and loved the contemporary look and the staff went out of their way.The outside is in a strip mall but so is so many other places. Its the inside that counts.

I am getting married in a year, but we are having the reception at the Madison.  We love the fact that they will do all the setup and cleanup for you and the rooms are very nice.  I have only heard gerat things about them.

I thought about the art museum, but it jsut wouldn't fit in my budget as well.  Instead I will have a photo booth and a live band at the reception

Thank you all, this definitely helps! I'm glad I know ahead of time about Elements being in a strip plaza! Thanks!

We are having our reception at The Madison in Covington in the Grande Ballroom. It is very affordable and they allow you to customize almost anything. You are also assigned a wedding coordinator who works with you along the way. They set up and clean up. Basically, they make sure that everything is taken care of for you. So my vote is The Madison. However, I've never been to a wedding reception at the other venues you've mentioned.

I looked at having my wedding at the Redmoor and it had a very cool atmosphere.  My only hangups with the venue is that there isn't really a bridal suite at the venue except for a small room that is used for overflow chairs/tables.  Also there isn't anywhere to put extra tables if you aren't going to use them so they end up on your dance floor.  I really wish they had other storage places for the tables and chairs so that you could configure the venue differently.  It's a very neat place and the owner is very nice, I would check it out if you are still looking so you can make up your mind if it would work for you or not.

I am also now looking for venues. What did you decide?
What did you think of The Madison and The Elements?
Those are two places we are looking at. Where they comparable in pricing?

We went with the Redmoor! We're going to repurpose those tables that can't be stored (i.e. from buffet to dance floor drink storage to midnight snack table) - I just love the atmosphere in the Redmoor and I think the pricing is great and parking is included! Not many people have been there for a wedding either. That was a big plus in my book! Oh, and their bar? To die for!
