Hueston Woods: Anyone Ever Get Married Here?

Hey all,

I am just kind of browsing reception ideas and I was wondering if anyone has ever had a wedding at Hueston Woods State Park or if they have ever attendended one? My partner and I are very much outdoors people and want our ceremony to reflect that. I love the idea of making mini-destination wedding where if people want to turn it into a mini get away, they can.

I have camped here many times but in all honesty have never been in the lodge. Does anyone have any opinions about this location as a reception site?

Not sure how far away from Cincy you want to go but I have been to a wedding at Natural Bridge in KY and it was really beautiful.

Ohio state parks don't generally allow alcohol, so you might want to take that into consideration if it's important to you.

I considered them - but I think you have to have guest book a certain number of rooms to use that site? That's how it seems to be worded on the website.

My family has a mini-vacation here every year for over 25 years and we love it! We have been there numerous times while there are weddings going on. All have been beautiful! This lodge does allow alochol (believe me ;) ) If it wasn't so far away from our church I would have it here in a heartbeat! One of the receiption rooms has a large fireplace and over looks the lake-gorgeous!

The lodge makes for a great weekend away. We always get 10+ rooms for our entire family and there is plenty to do to keep us all occupied. They get an A++ in my book!

    Good luck to you!

I was lookning into Heuston woods as well but we ended up gonig with Voice of America Park in West Chester. We are big outdoors ppl as well and VOA just gave us a better feeling when we talked to people than Hueston Woods. Also, it is alot cheeper IMO. You might want to look into it. There is a gazebo on a lake as well as the lodge for the reception.

    Good Luck!!
