Black Envelopes

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone used black envelopes to send out their wedding invtiations?  I really want to, as my pockefold is black and I think using a white envelope might look odd.  I worry that I will have trouble sending then through the post office if I use black envelopes.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yep, and they went through just fine (though I did have them hand cancelled).  Here's what they looked like:

We just received an invite for our friends' wedding and they had a black envelope, it looked really good with the silver calligraphy (like HR's above).

I had contemplated using black envelopes because we used black pocketfolds, but decided against it because I wanted to print our envelopes (I know, I know they should be addressed by hand).  I did everything by hand (design, printing, cutting, and assembly) and just wouldn't have had the time to hand write all of the addresses.  Plus, I figured the guests would rather have us put the money we would have spent on a calligrapher on more hors d'ouevres or something else for the reception.

    Thanks HR!

tb - did it look funny having a black envelope inside a white envelope?

Honestly, you couldn't even tell, but I got pretty nice, thick envelopes.

Btw, cincy, I'm doing spring cleaning right now, and I just realized that I actually have a bunch of those envelopes left.

If you're interested, let me know - I THINK (though I'd need to count them again), that I have 100 of them.  They're also a little larger than normal invite envelopes (to accommodate the pocketfolders I made).
