Reception BANDS (music)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, fun, cover band for the reception ... One who does the emceeing as well as performing??

My fiance is in loveee with the idea, and has convinced me to be the same!!

Thanks in advance!

The Chuck Taylors! Google Greg Lee music. You will be able to find Greg's info. THey perform often at Hollywood casino on Friday nights... you can go and check them out for free. They were a huge hit at our recent reception!

We are using Stays In Vegas. I listed to them live a few months ago before we booked them and I thought they sounded really good. They do a mix of everything.

We are using The Mix, but I can also recommend Airwave and Jack Garrett band that I have heard at other weddings.  Live bands are the best!

I have also heard good things about paul otten band but never actually heard them.  when i was originally on the hunt we exchanged some emails and they were really prompt and seemed cool.

I'm int. in a band as well but probably want to go a little folksy/country bc of my barn theme. Is there a standard range of cost for local musicians?

Thanks everyone!  I am looking into This Side Up!  as well, it is a Dayton band, but they do travel to Cincinnati.  Heard nothing but good about them, they are quite pricey though ...  However, I am just now contacting other bands, so it may be the average price, we shall see!

    Thanks ...

sdunaway10, I'll keep you updated if I find any good country bands, I think it'd be great for a barn theme ... I'm the MOH in a barn reception wedding this coming weekend (no band though, she's having a dj)! ... Keep me updated as well on anything you find!!

so what is the range of costs? I originally got a quote of $1K -$1,500 for a band (that was a few ours away) but thought i could find something more affordable around here...But people seem to be higher. Didn't know if you knew what the average was.

I've had one quote at $3,800, and another at $2,500 ... so $1K - $1,500 seems cheap to me!  Especially when considering that most of the DJs seem to be around $800ish ... Ugh, so expensive ... but after seeing one this weekend, I just want to say it's worth it, and cut elsewhere!!  What are you thinking about doing?? When is your wedding ... if we both choose the band route, let us keep each other sane during the payments ha!!  (and updated on bands/prices)
