Ault Park wedding Cincinnati, OH

Does anyone know any information regarding wedding costs at Ault Park? I am in love with the park, but don't want to break the bank. It seems very expensive! eek. Help!

  • All of the pricing is listed when you Google it. I apologize but I don't remember the site. It's pretty reasonable

  • Yeah, it would have to be fairly reasonable for it to be mentioned in The Knot's budget wedding article (the Rose Garden, that is - not the Pavilion).
  • The people you have to go through is: http://www.premierparkevents.com/

When we started looking at Ault Park or French House I thought it was rather pricey. Ault Park for the Pavillion is just starting at $2000 for just the venue. Then you have to rent everything for the event. I just didn't want to have to deal with that.

I am using Ault Park. It is $2800 for seven hours of event time and a couple hours of set up. You also get an off duty police officer included in that cost. The other nice thing is there is free parking and there are no other events on your day.

You do have to rent from them, but they are pretty reasonable compared to other rental companies and they will do all of the set up and tear down. Pretty much up to you how much you want to spend.

The cost that really gets you with them is that they charge a 15% fee from the caterers, which the caterers will tack onto their cost. They have nine premire caterers, I am going with Village Pantry Catering. They are great and the best priced. I am getting two entrees for about $37 a head and that includes food (main course and appetizers), drinks (non-alcoholic), servers, bartenders and your china, plus set up and tear down. They also do not charge a cake cutting fee and you have no restricitons on your cake or desserts.

Premire Parks requires that you buy alcohol from them, but we are doing just beer and wine open bar and that is $10 per person.

    Hope this helps.

  • It used to be a lot cheaper - I wanted to get married there (reception only) so bad but given I wanted the full dinner, alcohol (liquor included) chair covers etc. it was just nuts. It used to be last year you could apply for a liquor license and bring in your own alcohol. Now you can't. If it's your dream location and you have the money, I highly suggest it! The other thing is if you have the budget for it, you can hire a wedding coordinator and talk w/them and they can probably orchestrate and deal w/the different vendors you'll need, so you don't have to.
    Good luck!

  • I looked at this place as well - what killed me was the 15% charge on everything, not just the catering. If I am correct it was also on tables/chairs, etc. and having to source those tables and chairs through them. Once again if I remember correctly chair pricing alone was $10 a chair when other rental companies charge $6.50 for the same chair. With my guest list it ended up being almost $1000 more just for seating alone.

My correspondance with them was really slow which also hindered me from pursuing them as a reception venue any further. My friend who booked her reception with them - was hit mid way through when they changed the liquor policy. She was able to get out of her contract and changed her venue because of the switch.

It's a beautiful location, but I was not willing to deal with slow response time and such strict and steep rental restrictions/prices on top of extra catering commissions and a high rental to begin with.
  • They do not charge a 15% charge on the rental fee because you are renting from them. They do charge tax and a set up and tear down fee, but it is not 15% of the cost of the rentals. I just reviewed my contract to make sure.

You can get the resin chairs for $3.70 or the Chivari chairs for $8.

  • I'm getting married at Alms Park, which is through the same group, only it's $1600 vs. $2800. From what I've found, their 15% fee is comparable since most venues charge that 20% service fee, whereas this seems to just be for the caterer. While the response times aren't the fastest, the girl you work with is super nice (Maura--though she might just be for Alms) and it is nice to be in control of a lot--that said, I didn't find it to be too much more when I started doing the numbers vs. an all-inclusive venue, it just takes a lot more footwork on your part to coordinate everything. Then again, I'm still in the beginning stages and my venue was my biggest "splurge", so we'll see!
