Who goes in the limo?

HI all! I really want to have a limo for the wedding party & both sets of parents but do I have to include dates/significant others of the wedding party too? We already have a party of 18 (I know!) What is appropriate/polite in transportation without spending a huge amount of money?

I really don't know the etiquette on this but I would expect with that many people in your party they would understand that they can't bring their S/Os along for the ride but you have to be mindful of how long the ride is.  Is there a long distance between the ceremony and reception venues?  Is it possible that the S/Os will get lost without their partners with them?  I would expect that some may opt out of riding in the limo if they can't bring their S/O.

I do know that even stretch limousines will not accomodate that many people (the 20 or so in the wedding party).  I think a stretch hummer limo will but that's pushing it.  Your best and most comfortable bet would be renting a charter bus.

I am going to say just the bridal party.
If your bridal party has a "significant other" they will need a ride at the end of the night! Just tell them that.. It will be an easy out without looking like a jerk.

We also got a limo. It will be for the bridal party only, but that will be 10 people and its a 12 passenger limo. SO's will meet us at the reception venue.

Ditto people, it depends on the logistics of the transportation.  If the limo isn't going to take your wedding party back to their hotels or wherever their car is, I would tell them that their spouses/dates will ride separately to give them a ride home at the end of the night.

I do know of people renting buses that take the wedding party and their spouses/dates.  Those buses are usually for the entire day.  That way works, too, but of course it's more costly.

I just booked my limo yesterday!  I have a small wedding party, 3 BM/GM myself and the FI.  So I went ahead and included SO for the wedding party as well.  That gives us a total of 14 in the limo.

We rented the limo for 8 hours, so all the girls (moms too) could ride in the limo to the salon!  But since we'll be at the church a bit early, we're going to have the limo make a couple runs from the hotel to the church to pick up any family that wants a limo ride.  At least, I think it'll work out that way!

If you haven't already booked your transportation I'd highly recommend Gallant Coach. They have a bus that seats up to 30 people comfortably and it's really nice on the inside. Very reasonable prices, also.

GREAT! Thanks a lot for the helpful tips! I am just the type that wants to include everyone....hence the huge wedding party! :)

We also have a large wedding party (17 including us) but wanted to include the parents in the limo, so we are not inviting S/O to join. Besides we have to be there early & have to get pictures between so I figured they would have more fun at the cocktail hour.
