Weekend Checks!

Fiance finally had a weekend off from his review course for his engineering exam so we checked a couple things off our list today!  Ordered flowers for the girls' hair, corsages for mothers and grandmothers, and boutonnieres to pick up the day before (much cheaper than having it delivered to the venue!) and went to the jeweler to have the rings engraved and my ring set resized since it fit too snugly when the two rings were stacked together.  I will miss my engagement ring for the next two weeks :-(

Anyone else have any exciting checks this weekend?  Or taking a break from wedding-related activities to watch the big game?

We are having a super bowl party but im also going to be working on my pomanders while watching. I cant seem to take a break from making them. Im just dying to get them all finished.

Completed my favorite check of all today, booked our week-long honeymoon in St. Thomas!! Woo hoo! We also finalized our cake selection and put down the deposit. Congrats on everything you got accomplished! Now that it's down to the little things, it seems like there's ALOT of little things.

Congrats on the checks! I work 2-7 tomorrow, so I will miss kickoff, but I should get to see most of the game. GO GIANTS! 

I may work on my BM hangers (2 left!) tomorrow morning, but eh. I may sleep in. Idk yet haha. I also paid the photographer (MOH/best friend's dad) the balance we owed him last night and we went over some details, so that was fun.

I bought my FI ring and they sent it off for engraving!!! Finally and also did a little honeymoon shopping. Since I've lost this weight I need new stuff!!! Any reason to shop...lol

I finished invitations and they're ready to go out!! I also booked our wedding night hotel room and got all the candles for the reception! Also Michaels is having a 40% off sale so I got silk tulips for our escort card table. I'm doing floating candles with flowers underneath can't wait too see how they look!

I  live in Boston and hate the Patriots. I will be so sad if they  win and I have to hear stuff about how great Bellichick and Brady are for the rest of the year.  Hope the Giants pull this one off.

We finalized the rehearsal dinner menu with FI's parents, and we narrowed down our first dance song to 5 choices (I'll post them below in case you ladies have any advice or opinions!). And I'm currently making Oreo Balls for the super bowl party tonight at his parent's home! GO PATS!!!

Finalized our menu, got the shoes, Brides maid dresses came in from J Crew. found a hair stylist / makeup artist to travel 4 hours to Maryland, convinced my friend who is a photographer to come up from Florida, she is invited to the wedding anyway but she is amazing photog. I am done, momosas are in hand and cooking for my Fi's boses superbowl party.

After 10.5 hours of working on invites yesterday, I still have 40 to go!  I seriously underestimated the time it would take me to put them together/decorate/address/stamp etc.

Yesterday we got GMs pants and FIs shoes

Edit: We did get his suit ordered and the GM shirts purchased as well.  Jeweler was not open today so that will have to wait till this week or later.

I love getting stuff done!  FIs going out to a superbowl thing and I'll have it on at home, where I'll be able to get so much more done than if I went out!

FI and I had our last meeting with our mentor couple, and got most of our registry finished!  Our wedding party and parents came over today to help address, stamp, and assemble the invitations!

Well we did a good amount of stuff too. 

Friday we went to a lawyer to discuss what we have to do post-wedding (long story, but just trust me when I say that it's immensely important). Major check.

Saturday we did apartment stuff. We picked out paint colors at Lowes, tested them out on the walls, measured all the rooms for furniture. 

Sunday we bought 8 gallons of paint (gasp!) and all of the paraphernalia. We got 1 coat on the bedroom walls before leaving for a Super Bowl party. I also addressed 90% of our invites.

This weekend, FI& I took a break from everything wedding and apartment related to just focus on each other and it was great. We definitely needed that, because even though we haven't really been fighting lately, (we were fighting non-stop for a while there, thanks to me) everything was taking over my brain and I needed to just focus on why we're here in the first place. FI said it felt like it did when we first started dating. Then he went home early (usually he leaves Monday nights) so he can watch the game with his little brother and I started packing. I will be going to paint some more today after work, and hopefully finish! I can't wait to order the furniture!

We got a lot of little stuff done this weekend.  I finally finished off the last of my DIY pomanders, and FI started working on our "Here comes the Bride" sign!  I can't wait until it's done.  Today I'm off to Michael's for buy a couple baskets to put our favors in, and (much, much more importantly) to dump our invitations off at the post office and to get my e-ring cleaned/inspected and pick out a wedding ring!  Or at least hopefully pick out a wedding ring.    And, I ordered myself some flats to wear at the reception, a couple of BM gifts, and a cute dress to wear at a bridal shower.
