Dayton/Cincy Videographer

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the knot!  My fiance and I met with a few videographers in the Dayton/Cincy area but it seemed like all of them were way too overpriced.  My fiance wasn't thrilled with having to pay a few thousand $$'s for a video we would probably only watch a few times.

We eventually found a guy named Jeff Cooney that just recently started a videography business in the Dayton/Cincy area.  www.JeffCooneyWeddings.com  Although he is relatively new, they seem to put out decent videos at a really great price.  Their basic package was only $675, which is like half of much as what other videographers were trying to sell me.  Definitely makes it much more affordable for us!  He was also really friendly and easy to get along with on a personal level (something a few of the other videographers we spoke with could definitely improve on!)

He is the one that actually introduced me to the knot (he said that he got a lot of new business from some posts on the knot... and [embarassingly enough] I had not really even heard of the knot before!)  

Have any of you dealt with him before?  We haven't booked with him yet, but I think we'd like to.  I just want to see if anyone has any good/back feedback about him first before committing to it, ya know?

I can't wait to talk more with all you ladies about wedding planning stuff  Please message me any tips/ideas if you have any!

Check out previous videographer posts for deals.  This one says Jeff will lower the cost to $600 by mentioning another Knottie's name.  GL!

We just booked Jeff for our June 2012 wedding.  After a TON of research into other Cincy/Dayton videographers, he was definitely the "best bang for the buck".  For a short time, he was discounting his basic package to $600 for knotties who mentioned my username... but I don't think he's doing that now since my original post was about a month ago.  Besides, $675 is the lowest price I've been able to find for a videographer... so I wouldn't try to haggle him any lower.

Also, Jeff just posted a new wedding video on his website.  There were some complaints on these boards that he was a little "shaky" with the camera... looks like he fixed this in his most recent video posted online.

It's a huge improvement, and I'm pretty confident that his style will continue to get better as he gets more experience.

Thanks for the help!  My fiance and I are going to go ahead and book with him.  Seems like a great deal and the 2nd video he posted looked great I thought!

He actually just emailed me back and I am glad I messaged him when I did!  He said that he is thinking about raising his prices here in a week or two given the big response they have had so far.  I don't know if I should put that on here or not.  But ladies, if you are looking for an affordable option get him while it lasts!
