210 guests for 12k- is this even possible?

Ladies- my fiance and I just found out that our original reception hall is well over budget, but luckily hadn't signed the contract yet so we're in good shape.

So here's my question, where in cincinnati can I have a reception for 12k for 210 guests, with a decent buffet, beer and wine, and a beer/wine/appetizer hour on a saturday night??

You'll be fine.  Think of it this way.  Most places charge around a 20% service fee.  That's easy with your budget, 10000*.2 is 2000.  So you have 10,000 for the reception.  If that is to include DJ, cake, centerpieces, etc., you need to subtract that first obviously.

$10,000/210 is approximately $47/guest.  There are lots of places you could do it for that price.  Do you have a certain 'vibe' that you're looking for?  Vintage, modern, country club, anything?

Country club- we're trying to stay away from the typical hotel reception space. We want something with windows, a view, not a dark, dungeony box. You're right- its do-able. Thanks!

Receptions has all-inclusive packages for $28-40/pp.  You just have to bring the flowers, cake, DJ, attire.  They even have nice centerpieces and chair sashes and covers for free, if that was a concern.

You should absolutely try Ivy Hills Country Club. It's GORGEOUS. My main hang up with venues was I didn't want the "warehouse" feel of many places- i wanted windows! Ivy is gorgeous and prices are reasonable, and you can negotiate your own menu to get the price you need. If you need more info, email me at amy underscore lynch71@ yahoo . com

Most of the McHale's Catering venues should work with that budget: The Grand, The Marquis, etc. Check out kycatering. com.

Definately possible. Try the Inn at Oneonta, it's a little off the beaten path in Northern Kentucky but totally gorgeous!!
