Southgate Community Center, NKY

I am looking into using Southgate Community Center for our reception. I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them, good or bad? We would like to have 250 guests but it seemed that with guests and a dance floor it may be on the cramped side. Did anyone have their reception there? If so would you recommend it? Or did anyone look into it and decide it wasn't for them? Any insight would be very helpful! Thanks!!

    Ive been to 2 weddings there. Its a nice place, but theres no way you could fit that many people in there comfortably. The last one had 180 people and we could barely move our chairs

    I went to a wedding there and it was nice but I am with amanda6033 it was packed at 175ish and we were like sitting on top of each other so it might be small for your event. It was very nice inside though.

    Have you looked into the Ft Thomas Community Center?  It holds 340 people.

    Thanks for the help! We have looked into Ft Thomas Comm Center (our first choice!) but they are already booked for Saturdays in the summer of 2011. I find it interesting that the weddings you guys attended felt packed at that number because they claim that the large hall holds 300. But we will look elsewhere because we don't want our guests to feel cramped! Any other suggestions for budget friendly halls for 250 guests? We want a place where we can bring in our own caterer. Thanks!!!

    My brother and sister both had their receptions at Southgate and had 250-300 and it fit great! I'm not sure how the tables were set up for the other wedding these girls are talking about but both our weddings were great. Actually my baby brother is getting married there in Spring 2011 because of our family success there. Good luck!

    That's great to hear Klee.ski! Do you remember if your siblings used round tables, rectangular tables, or a combination of both for the guests? Thanks!

    I know I'm late chiming in on this, but my brother got married there in June with 230ish guests and we fit fine.  We used all round tables. They have 20 available and we rented 3. 
    I'm having my reception there in April 2011, too!
