Budget Venues in Cinncinat

Hello all!

Trying to help my mother plan her wedding.  They have a very small budget of $2k.  Any thoughts/recommendations on cheap/free venues in the cincinnati area?  I live in the south so I'm not too familiar with choices in Cincy.

Thanks!

How many guests and what is included in the $2k (e.g., is this just food and drinks or does it need to include photography, music, etc.)?

Also, when is she getting married?  Is an outdoor wedding possible?  Or might she consider something very small and intimate for the ceremony then party for friends afterwards?  That would make the site for the ceremony so much easier to decide.

    Thanks for replying!

It will be about 50-60 guests.   I think it will have to include just food & drinks.  I told her that we probably need to keep it simple as possible since it's not a large budget for a lot of frills.

Also, when is she getting married?
They are looking at Sept/Oct 2011 but may be open to Spring 2011

    Indoors is preferred.

Good idea.. I will suggest this to her.

A friend of mine mentioned historic buildings may have cheap rental fees.. any suggestions on these types of places?

    Thanks again!

A restaurant might be a good route to take b/c everything would be included.  We're having our rehearsal dinner at The View in Eden Park.  It is within a high rise condo building, but they hold events in the community room.  It's a gorgeous room that holds up to 100.  The owners have been incredibly flexible with us.  Here's their website.

I'd have to give a big vote for VIEW too.  Perhaps your mom could have the ceremony on their outdoor patio (overlooking the river) then the reception in the community room.  Excellent location.

We had our rehearsal dinner at McCormick and Schmick downtown in their private banquet room overlooking fountain square and it was fantastic.  We had about 55 people and the room was the perfect size--intimate enough for the size of the group but large enough that it was not cramped.  Depending on your menu and bar package, you would probably be able to meet your budget.  I worked with Melissa, she was great at trying to work within my requirements.
