Alterations Rec

Does anyone have experience with Mary at Sew Much in Reading?  Any other suggestions in the Hyde Park/Dowtown area?

I bring pants and dresses (including bridesmaids dresses) to Cyndy's alterations in Oakley and she has always done a great job...but I'm bringing my wedding dress to Stitches by Pauline on a reco from my friend...my first fitting is on Thursday so I will let you know how it goes :)

VM Alterations on Michigan Avenue in Hyde Park.  I don't know if she still does wedding attire but her work is amazing.

I'm going with Mary at Sew Much for one of my dresses (I'm a multi-dress bride) and just had my fitting last week.  She made my bustle very sturdy with several points and even color coded the ribbons that tie it together.  And throughout the process she wasn't phased at all at my numerous requests to try different types of bustles.

I also really liked how Sew Much is custom making my veil exactly to my requests from the trim to fabric stiffness/poof to length.  She also rents out crinolines for $25.

Thanks, this is helpful - did the dress need much other work?  Mine is going to need quite a bit of hemming/taking in at the waist.

Mine didn't need much work, only a  bustle and hem, because I was fortunate to have gotten a dress off the rack originally custom ordered by a girl who was the same size as me.

But I can tell you Mary is talented and I wouldn't hesitate to ask what she can do.

I highly recommend Alterations by Frances in Ft. Thomas.
