Reception Help!

we originally were going to have our reception in Oxford where the chapel is but for 100 people with no drinks we were looking at over $3000. Were on a tight budget and don't want to spend the equivalent of our honeymoon on food. I know there has to be places that are cheaper to rent that allow your own food and/or a cheap
Caterer?? Our ceremony is in Oxford so I'm not interested in having the reception in northern Kentucky or too far our of butler county. Does anyone have any building or caterer suggestions?? Also do caterers allow you to bring your own alcohol ever? We don't want liquor there but would like beer or wine. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Thanks so much.

Check out the Oxford Community Arts Center on College Ave. The space is absolutely beautiful and the Event Coordinator, Donna, is great to work with. Their prices recently increased but are still very competitive based on what other places in the area are charging. Also, you're just paying to rent the space which allows you the freedom to find a caterer within your budget.

I hope this information helps! There are quite a few Oxford brides on this board so you should be able to get a lot of great suggestions to help with your planning.

Yea the arts center would be $1500-1800 for just the space we'd need. My fiance is not crazy about the building either nbut I haven't thrown it out yet. I just am trying to find a cheaper building. thanks for your reply! :)

My sister got married at a lodge at one of the parks in Cincinnati, i think it was the lake lodge at Sharon Woods, it was bring your own food and drinks, she had approx 125 people and had plenty of room both inside and out. The lodge rental was only like $300.00 dollars but that was 5 yrs ago.
