Do we need cupcake boxes????

Hey ladies, as the day is getting closer, my budget is being stretched paper thin, so I wanted to get some opinions on whether or not I should invest in take home boxes for cupcakes. Instead of cake, we opted to do cupcakes. We are have about 140 guests, and 140 cupcakes. I know some will not get eaten during the night, and the thought with getting cupcakes was that people could grab them as they leave. Wanted to see if you guys have been to weddings where cupcakes were served and were there even any left to take and would anyone even take them???Is it even worth spending the money to get them???

I was just at a wedding with a cupcake cake, and they did not have take-home boxes for them. IMO, it would be like having take-home boxes for a regular cake... which I have never seen. I would say skip them, especially since you're tight on a budget. If people want cupcakes, they'll eat them at your reception! And, if they want to grab one to go, I don't think they need a box for it.

How big are your cupcakes?  We were told to order 1.5 for each person, so we ordered 288 (or 24 dozen for 175 people).  We were left with maybe 2 dozen.  You know your guest list best, but with cupcakes, it's easy for people to grab more than one.

With that in mind, I think that cupcake boxes are unncessary.

thanks ladies!!! i think i am going to skip them since it sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal not to have them.

mattspenguin-they are just reg sized cupcakes. I only ordered as many as there are going to be guests, because I figured some people would take two and some people wont take any at all, so I think it should pretty much even out....
