Hotel Bags

Are other people putting bags together for people staying at hotels?  We have about 70- 80 rooms for our guests and we are putting together a bag for each room.  I was wondering what others are putting in these types of bags?

Here is what I have now:
Xavier pens (we both went to XU)
Xavier pins (little X's)
Skyline chili packs
bottles of water

Gift bag will have a sticker of our monogram to personalize it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

We're putting candy (Reese's pumkins) since that's one of my favorite candies, then we'll pick one of fiance's as well for an easy snack for guests.

We did water, granola bars, candy, map of the area, information about the wedding, etc.

Remember they are in a hotel so have things that are practical for them.

We are creating cincinnati themed bags so we are puttting a handful of goodies that represent cincy. We are putting Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce, (we found for 1.00/bottle at Kroger) gold star chili packets, Frisch's tarter sauce, French Chew candy bars (i think you can get 2 or 3 for a buck) Larosa's pizza sauce, and a cincy quiz... stuff like that...

I have read about brides who put snacky foods(pretzels/crackers), candy, gum, advil, maps, toiletries, candles ect.

we went to a wedding where they actually included mini bottles of liquor.

We did bottled water, granola bars, microwave popcorn (our hotel rooms were suites with kitchens), Hussman's chips, apples and clementines.  Sam's Club and Costco are great places to buy chips, candy, water, granola bars, etc.

Honestly, if you haven't bought the pins, I probably wouldn't put those in .  People may use the pen, but I doubt anyone will do anything with a pin of someone else's alma mater.

Oh, and I used the reusable grocery bags from Kroger, so guests would have that as something to use later.

I just went shopping for this stuff this weekend at Sam's.  I found bags for $1 at the Dollar Tree and Bigg Lots.

We got two bottles of water for each bag, bags of pretzels, sun chips, granola bars, and M&Ms.  We'll also put in a map that has the hotel and venue information on it and a note that thanks guests for coming and gives them the schedule for the weekend.

Our plan was basically to give people snacks that they could easily take on the plane or car ride back home.

I would wait to do this until you've got your final count on the hotel rooms (you should know about a month out).  Fewer people are staying in our recommended hotels than anticipated, so we spent less money on this than we expected.

Just a thought to add... we are doing Cincy theme bags too, but keep in mind, lots of your guests may have flown to the wedding, and might not have checked their bag. You may want to avoid liquid-heavy items like the BBQ sauce, etc, just in case they carried on and wouldn't be able to take these items with them due to TSA regulations. I know this is the case for many of our guests, so we are doing the powdered Skyline packets, and maybe some other "dry" stuff too.

Also, I don't know which hotel you are staying at, but FYI for other knotties, the Hilton downtown is where our block of rooms are. They have offered free walking-tour maps and historic booklets of the hotel too that I plan to include.
