Nice restuarants in Cincinnati

So - I am currently teetering between a full blown 6,000+ dollar reception at Embassy Suites River center on a Saturday afternoon for family and friends

and a more intimate 20ish person ceremony/reception at a local restuarant with a small event space and then being able to afford a honeymoon (travel is so important to both of us!)

Any suggestions for restuarants? or thoughts on having a very small wedding/reception?

View Restaurant in The Edgecliff in Eden Park overlooking the River and Northern Kentucky.  Great setting and excellent food.

Maggianos has a group of rooms that you can use. We are getting married at the Weidemann Hill Mansion max is 60 people. I would look at places downtown, like The Celestial. They are nice enough to have something like that but not as expensive as $6000. We made the decision to have a small wedding and we both couldn't be happier. Good Luck!

Thanks. I've been to Maggianos - and just was not that impressed with the locale or the more importantly..the food.

I have been eyeing the Celestial though and am very much considering it. :)

We are doing a small intimate wedding ceremony and going to dinner afterwards.

We'll have 30 people total.  We're getting married downtown.  (You can get a permit for any of the parks)  Then we're headed to Via VIte afterwards.  We've reserved the Middle Room upstairs.  It will probably be about $1800 after it's said and done, but that's 10 more people than you'll have.

Also, make darn sure that 20 people is realistic.  I started planning 25, and then the parents all wanted to add 2-3 family members (cousins etc.) and of course, when you invite one, you have to invite the other AND their spouse.  It adds up quick.
