No Rehearal Dinner Venue! Help!

Hello Ladies,

So I was planning on having my rehearsal dinner at my family church to be catered by one of our church members but now she has found out that she will not be in town our wedding weekend :(. I am getting married next month on October 20th and I need a rehearsal dinner venue ASAP. We are looking to have 40-50 ppl and would like to have dinner somewhere that has a private room in the Cincinnnati/Northern Kentucky area. Any suggestions?????

  • What is your budget? Are you looking for something more casual or formal? I posted this a few days ago to someone else's question about RDs: There are a bunch of restaurants that would be able to hold that many people that have private rooms.  I'm not sure what you consider reasonable, but here are a few ideas: deSha's InCahoots in Blue Ash Bravo LaRosa's Nada
  • Tonic on Fourth
The View restaurant has a private room (Edgecliff highrise in Eden Park)
    Pompillio's in Newport
Would Montgomery Inn on the Riverfront be too pricey?
  • Have you looked at Molly Malone's in Covington?  You can book the entire second floor and they have a buffet option for parties over 30 plus a full alcohol bar up there.  It's incredibly affordable and the food is great.  Plus, if you don't plan on footing the bill for alcohol, they'll do a cash bar so your guests can still imbibe.

  • The Art of Entertaining is great and you can do it for about 40-50 people for about 2 grand including tips.
Chez Nora lets you rent out a section, as does the new Lager house. Good luck!
  • I agree about Chez Nora! Give them a call and jump on it if they are available.

  • The school house restaurant. Super cute, vintage, serves fried chicken and everything on lazy susans. Not sure about price, but I dont think it is too expensive.

  • The Rookwood in Mt. Adams. It's a cool venue with great city views. They have several private room options.

  • We're having ours in the "high rollers" room at Turfway Park during their live-racing meet.  Horse racing is part of both our lives and the catering food there is surprisingly DELICIOUS.  The room holds 50.  You'll have your own mutual clerk at a private betting window, full bar and can even name a race (and have your pic taken as a group in the Winners Circle).

It fits what we're trying to do and I know it's not for everyone.  I'll also recommend Grandview Tavern in Villa Hills and John Phillips in Crestview.  Good Luck!
  • We had ours at the Doubletree Hotel in Northern Kentucky.  We also had our reception there and blocked off a bunch of rooms for out of town guests.  We pretty much invaded for the weekend :)  They were extremely accommodating though and the coordinator we worked with (her name is Risa) is WONDERFUL.  Contact them if you're interested!
