Who to use and info to share...

Okay, I got estimates from several MUA for my engagement pics and can't figure out who to go with.  I'm debating traditional versus airbrush...we'll be outside so I want it to last, but then again the shoot is only 1.5-2 hours and it will be October so not hot and humid.  I've not tried airbrush but have read that it will make the skin look flawless for pics, especially digital.  All artists will come to me, which is perfect since their studios are all over town.

Diana Varga - $50 traditional
Michelle Marx - $50 traditional
Brideface - Nancy Dawson - $75 airbrush with lashes
Ashley Matho - $100 airbrush

Jean Folchi is away until tomorrow, so no estimates from her yet.  Hope this info helps you too in case you were curious about it!

I would go with Nancy, hands down.  The lashes make a huge difference.   She doesn't seem to get as many reviews anymore (probably because she is more expensive than some of the others), but in all the years on here I've never seen a bad review from one of her brides.  GL!

Thanks for the price points!  Very helpful for other brides!

I am a make-up junkie because I have problematic skin and have tried everything.  So here's my opinion on both options:

I think traditional and airbrush have different results.  I would only go with airbrush if you have cystic acne or severe scarring.  Otherwise, the look of traditional make-up is much more natural, dewy, and healthy-looking.  Some brides have said that while airbrush make-up covered every single skin problem they could possibly have, in real life it looks very thick, as if you could scratch off a lot with your nails.  (Maybe this isn't a concern for you since it's e-pics.)  The advantage to that is that their make-up covered every possible skin problem such that it looked like a mannequin in pictures.

I also have to add, Diana Varga did my make-up on Saturday for my tea ceremony!  She is amazing.  PM me for more questions but you cannot go wrong with her.  I've written a review on her the other day.

I used Nancy and all of us had airbrush and lashes, and we all looked absolutely amazing.  I'd choose her hands down.

Responding to clearhavens, none of us have problem skin, although I do have some faint melasma (dark spots).  Nancy's airbrush looked completely natural, non cakey, and totally dewy and flawless for all of us who had it done.

Good to know - I have pretty clear skin...few spots, but nothing crazy.  I just haven't tried the airbrush so I was really debating what to do.  I feel like I'm good enough at doing my own makeup other than lashes, so if I went the traditional route, I could feel comfortable just doing in myself...especially just for pics.

<div>That's nice that your airbrush make-up looked completely natural.  Maybe it's just me, because I have problematic skin and it takes a lot to get me covered.  Brides with good skin don't need to layer on the make-up like I do, whether with traditional make-up or airbrush.  You and your wedding party probably would have looked gorgeous and natural had you gone the traditional make-up route, too!</div>

I am using Nancy and have already had my trial.  I don't have problem skin (besides a bit of redness) but I loved the look of the airbrush.  It wasn't thick at all.  Nancy and I actually had a conversation about how she never liked airbrush before because it did go on to thick but that the newer method she uses alleviates that problem. I really recommend Nancy.  She is expensive but will make you feel beautiful and comfortable and she is completely worth it.

I loved airbrush - try Kelly Ledford with Cinci Makeup.  She does airbrush and is great.
