Localish Honeymoons?

Hi everyone,
Fi and I plan on taking a "real" honeymoon next summer but due to family and time restrictions we weren't planning on doing anything after our September 5th wedding.  After thinking about it we thought it might be a good idea to go somewhere for a couple of days.  We are looking for something within 6 hours.  We like both urban settings and picturesque more isolated locations but are not interested in the rustic cabin no tv type deal.  Any suggestions?  If you are staying close, where are you going?

Thanks!

Gatlinburg is a great place to go. Check out some places down there. There is a lot to do and cabins, but they do have tv, etc.

Chicago is good.  And I never would have believed it if I hadn't been there last summer but Pittsburgh is also a fun place with a really active downtown night life.  Northern Ohio has some great B&Bs.  From what I remember everyone in Cincinnati goes to Gatlinburg so I'd try somewhere that isn't typical.

btw - where is the real honeymoon going to be?

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I do want to avoid Gatlinburg. I've never really had a desire to go there for whatever reason.  Chicago is a good idea.  I was trying to think of somewhere we've never been however.  The real honeymoon is going to be in Turks and Caicos (so excited)

Asheville, NC is about 6 hours away. It's in the mountains, but I'm sure you can get a cabin with a TV. It's a small town, pretty artsy. We've been there a few times and it's pretty cool.

i second ashville, nc.  the biltmore estate is located just outside asheville, and there are a lot of lodges, spas, etc. in the area.  the biltmore has a great winery on the property with a lot of fantastic wines!

You could go to Nemacolin in Western PA.  I also second Pittsburgh for an urban getaway.  There's the Andy Warhol museum, The strip district, and you could go see a steeler's game.
